59 www.drivesncontrols.com July/August 2026 NEW PRODUCTS n Omron has launched an IP67protected power supply designed to be mounted on machinery, outside of the control panel, resulting in rapid installation and easy visibility. The S8NR supply spans ratings from 90–600W, 24V DC. Omron has also introduced an IP67rated DC blocking box (S8R-BB), which allows control circuits to be wired outside the panel too. The 360W and 600W versions of the supply have up to six individually protected outputs, cutting the number of separate parts to select and wire. A digital display on these models shows live voltage, current and fault status for each channel. For fast fault-finding, every output has a LED that normally appears green – or red if it trips. A maintenance-forecast function tracks the condition of the supply’s capacitors and reports (in years, and as a percentage) when it will need replacing, allowing maintenance to be planned before any failures. Data can be read, and the supply configured, remotely via IO-Link. Omron's Smartclick quickconnect system cuts the time to make a connection to about four seconds, compared to around 12s for screw connectors. A keyhole mounting bracket allows one person to hang and align the supplies. DIN-rail mounting is available as an alternative to screw fixing. Trip currents can be set in 0.1A steps, and start-up sequencing delayed in 0.1s steps per output. Inrush currents will not trip the supply when several loads switch on together. The DC blocking box extends this approach to control circuits, using the same Smartclick connection system so that power and safety wiring can both be done at the machine. Omron says that using the S8NRS and S8R-BB together can cut the number of components an engineer needs to select from ten to two. Omron https://industrial.omron.eu/en/ products/s8nr Lutze is expanding its control and connection cable portfolio with new halogen-free PUR control cables, harmonised PUR device connection cables and robust rubber hose cables. The new cables have finely stranded class 5 conductors and offer high flexibility. The halogen-free Silflex N and N (C) PUR control cables are available in unshielded or shielded versions. The latter are suitable for electromagnetically demanding industrial environments. The cables are designed for voltages up to 300/500V and can be used to connect machines and devices. The halogen-free harmonised H05BQ-F and H07BQ-F PUR cables are designed for operating voltages up to 450/750V and are suitable for applications with frequent movement. They are available with coloured conductor cores and an orange jacket. They offer high abrasion and weather resistance, temperature resistance up to 90°C, and are largely oil- and UV-resistant. The heavy-duty Horn-F rubber cable is designed for demanding operating conditions. The black cable is resistant to UV, moisture and ozone, and is suitable for outdoor use. Lutze www.luetze.com/en-gb Rockwell Automation is offering a motor protection switching device that delivers more reliable branchcircuit protection by combining a disconnect capability, magnetic short-circuit protection, electronic overload protection and manual switching. The 140ME device is designed to protect motors from overloads, phase losses, and shortcircuits. Consolidating multiple protective and control functions into one device reduces panel complexity and simplifies installation. There is a clear status indication and predictable trip behaviour, making it easier to identify issues, restore operation quickly and maintain uptime. The device’s compact footprint also helps panel-builders to optimise space without compromising accessibility or safety. The 140ME is part of Rockwell’s branch motor control and protection portfolio, working alongside its 100-E contactors, 140MT motor protection circuit breakers and E100 electronic overload relays. Together, these devices create a unified motor architecture that simplifies design, strengthens motor protection and improves coordination across inpanel architectures. With the latest release of Rockwell’s EtherNet/IP in-cabinet technology, connectivity via an 100-E contactor communication module can provide real-time diagnostics, device health insights and operational data via an EtherNet/IP network. This allows users to monitor motor conditions, identify issues and support predictive maintenance strategies, while reducing wiring and simplifying panel design. Maximum feed forces can now be up to 20% higher than before, from the same compact design. The higher values are based on new FEM calculations that examine the loads from the interaction of the torque and pinion forces in more detail. Stober has also improved the microgeometry of the teeth and validated the results in tests. The rackand-pinion gearboxes deliver feed forces up to 124kN, making them particularly suitable for large machine tools and machining centres. www.stoeber.de/en HMS Networks has announced that its Anybus Communicators are ready for the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), providing an easy way to meet EU cybersecurity requirements. Under the CRA, connectivity is no longer just a functional component of a product. It is a regulated part that must support long-term security, secure updates, documentation, and compliance evidence throughout a product’s lifecycle. To address these needs, HMS has updated its Anybus Communicator portfolio with enhanced hardware and software security functions developed under IEC 62443-certified secure product development processes. www.hms-networks.com
