The Danish current sensing specialist Danisense has launched a precision AC/DC current transducer that, it claims, offers current measurement performance up to 10 times better than conventional Halleffect transducers. The MBC4000I fluxgate transducer can measure currents precisely up to 4kA and above. The compact transducer has a 121mm-diameter aperture for busbar applications, and is based on Danisense’s closed-loop fluxgate technology. It has an accuracy of better than 0.05% from –20°C to +85°C, with a 1:5000 primary-to-secondary ratio, ultra-low sensitivity drift, and reliable current output performance. The Contactron speed starter can stop the energy supply to a motor immediately. Installation is said to be is quick and easy, thanks to simple wiring. Motor speeds can be varied flexibly using an analogue input, while up to four fixed-speed levels allow precise control. Built-in functions such as Safe Torque Off (STO) ensure efficiency and reliability. Parameterisable ramps allow adjustable acceleration and deceleration. For outputs of 4kW or more, a braking resistor must be connected. An optional builtin EMC filter allows interferencefree operation. Function blocks for the starter are available in the PLCnext library. Designed for manufacturers wanting greater flexibility from their automated handling systems, the GripperAI software identifies the optimum gripping point for an item and selects the most appropriate gripper for the task from the end-of-arm tools available. It allows robots to adapt to changing product mixes in real time, helping manufacturers to deploy and scale automation more efficiently. The software can work with a variety of gripping technologies, including vacuum and mechanical grippers, and supports automatic tool selection where applications require multiple gripping methods. It is suitable for applications where products vary significantly in shape, size or surface characteristics. Operating locally on an industrial PC connected to a 3D camera, the software calculates gripping points automatically and communicates the required motion to the robot’s path control system. If a grip is unsuccessful, the software recalculates and retries the operation, helping to maintain productivity without interrupting the process. The platform can be used with most industrial robots, cobots and Cartesian handling systems. Because the software architecture remains consistent with different cameras, users can choose the most cost-effective vision hardware rather than being tied to proprietary systems. This allows them to expand or upgrade their automated handling systems without being tied to a single robot, gripper or vision platform. Festo 0800 626422 www.festo.co.uk At the Interpack 2026 packaging show in Germany, the Chinese automation supplier Invovance launched several motor- and drive-related products, including the QS900 multi-axis servodrive, the DT60N AC drive for conveyors, the IDM Series integrated servomotor-drive system, and the MSG single-cable motor. The ultra-low latency QS900 multi-axis servodrive has motion control functions for smoother speed and torque output. AI-driven reliability and diagnostics support digital commissioning and one-click optimisation. Predictive maintenance reduces unplanned downtime, while smart energy optimisation enhances efficiency. The IP66-protected DT60N AC drive has a rugged, one-piece, diecast aluminium-alloy construction. With automotivegrade redundancy, and built-in protection and predictive maintenance functions, the drive is suitable for flexible production lines and conveyors. The compact IP67-protected IDM integrated motor-servodrive system eliminates the need for separate drives and motors, helping to reduce cabinet sizes and cable lengths by 70%. It allows overloads of up to 450%. A singlecable technology simplifies installation and maintenance. The modular MSG Series servomotor, designed for the European market, operates at speeds of up to 10,000 rpm, and has built-in predictive monitoring to reduce unplanned downtime. It is said to deliver high performance, response and reliability, and is suitable for packaging and printing applications.
