60 n NEW PRODUCTS July/August 2026 www.drivesncontrols.com HMS Networks has introduced an industrial connectivity platform that combines plugand-play edge gateways with a cloud-based subscription service to deliver simple, secure remote access for machine-builders and end-users. The Ewon Edge and Cloud platform allows them to get started quickly and then to expand progressively into data services, advanced analytics, predictive maintenance, and fleet management, providing deeper insights into machine performance as their digitalisation needs and business models evolve. The scalable platform simplifies secure remote access and lays the foundation for future digital services and industrial applications. It offers: n Secure, IT-aligned remote access with VPN, SSO (single sign-on), MFA (multi-factor authentication), and audit logs n High-speed remote access delivering up to three times faster performance than previous generations n Centralised access governance for both internal teams and external partners n Standardised connections across machines, production lines, and sites n Scalable deployment from a single machine to global operations n Edge-to-cloud integration for future analytics and digital services A modular design allows organisations to scale without replacing their existing systems. The platform brings together machine-builders’need for a reliable service tool with end-users’ desire for control and security. For machine-builders, the system promises: faster troubleshooting; lower service costs; secure, controlled access for service teams; and a scalable platform that grows with their needs. For end-users, it offers: control over third‑party access; standardised connections across multi‑vendor environments; improved uptime through faster diagnostics; compliance support for cybersecurity frameworks; and a user-centric platform that provides full control over user access and permissions HMS Industrial Networks www.hms-networks.com/ewon Kollmorgen has added an eightaxis programmable motion controller, as well as a highvoltage servodrive, to its Essentials portfolio. Both are available in the UK from Inmoco. The eight-axis Essentials variant of Kollmorgen’s PCMM2G controller provides the same performance and integration capabilities as the original model, while offering a lower price point for lower-axis-count applications. Functions include indexing and positioning. The motion system integrates with Kollmorgen’s Automation Suite, adding hardware and software including supervisory control and system programming. The high-voltage servodrive supports 240–480V three-phase AC inputs, and has a power rating of up to 4kW. Meeting the higher power and voltage ratings without a transformer improves energy efficiency and simplifies system designs. Kollmorgen’s Essentials motion system includes servomotors, servodrives and software, with programming achieved using either IEC 611313 languages or Kollmorgen’s visual-based Pipe Network. Support for a full motion control from a single supplier is said to reduce system complexity, engineering effort and commissioning times. There are now three sizes covering the power range 0.35–11kW and continuous torque ratings from 1.6–43.9Nm, with efficiencies of up to 95%. The eight-pole motors offer high overload capacities, large adjustment ranges, and operating speeds up to 2,400 rpm. An innovative design reduces the number of active parts. www.nord.com/en/home-uk.jsp Bühler has expanded its bMotion modular drive platform to include 40mm and 51mm motor sizes, in addition to the existing 63mm. The platform, available in the UK from Electro Mechanical Systems (EMS), offers a range of motors, gearheads, encoders, brakes and controllers that can be mixed and matched to suit an application. The two new motor sizes will give engineers more choice, enabling them to better tailor drive systems, achieve greater performance-to-cost ratios and shorten project timelines. www.ems-limited.co.uk ABB has launched a new version of its flagship DCS, adding Automation Extended functions, and enabling a gradual uptake of advanced digital capabilities while maintaining the core system. ABB Ability System 800xA 7.0 will offer users more flexibility to keep their control systems updated, secure and aligned with evolving digital demands. A new, modular software delivery approach through extension packs, allows users to stay on their base software version while adopting innovations on an independent lifecycle in a nondisruptive way. This reduces the need for large-scale upgrade events, reduces operational risk and lowers lifecycle costs. www.abb.com Camozzi has launched a series of smart grippers that combine gripping, sensing and process monitoring in one device, thus simplifying system designs, while providing production data. The CSPT Smart Parallel Grippers combine valves, sensors and absolute encoders and are designed to achieve better process control, product quality and efficiency in cobot applications. The grippers collect and transmit operating data continuously, allowing users to monitor force, position and gripping performance. This helps to optimise processes, reduce cycle times and maintain quality. Integrated proportional valves and pressure sensors allow independent control of the opening and closing chambers. Users can control the gripper using pressure, force or position modes, or combine multiple methods. An integrated encoder allows precise jaw positioning and stroke optimisation, reducing unnecessary movement and improving cycle efficiencies. A long-stroke design allows workpieces of varying sizes to be handled without needing multiple grippers. The grippers offer: precise force and position control; workpiece presence detection and size measurement; gesture recognition; and anti-slip gripping. They are compatible with cobots from UR, ABB, Fanuc Doosan, Omron and Dobot. Camozzi www.camozzi.co.uk Cobot grippers collect operating data to help optimise processes
