HYDRAULICS Versa has launched its new C-316 Series Stainless Steel NAMUR Lockout Valve, a direct-mount actuator control solution suitable for fluid power applications requiring dependable isolation, corrosion resistance and long-term operational reliability. Designed for direct NAMUR actuator mounting, the C-316 Series allows the valve to be mechanically locked in either the energised or de-energised position during maintenance procedures or plant shutdowns. They reliably seal ports, feedthroughs, and plug connections and are used where conventional static seals reach their limits due to manufacturing tolerances. As a result, reliable sealing is achieved even in the case of large tolerance chains, which reduces costs and assembly time. Many port, feedthrough, and plug connections today are created by highpressure die-casting, plastic injection molding, sheet metal forming, or similar manufacturing methods. The tolerances that can be achieved economically with these manufacturing methods are relatively large. For reliable sealing of housing openings and connections, that poses a considerable challenge. In many cases, conventional static sealing solutions are neither able to compensate for the aggregated tolerances in the tolerance chains nor can they be installed in a reliable process. When the manufacturing tolerances exceed the range that standard seals reliably cover, additional costs are incurred due to rework, stricter manufacturing specifications, more complex installation processes, or even higher warranty risks.
