46 n NEW PRODUCTS October 2026 www.drivesncontrols.com Festo is offering a configurable digital I/O module for its CPX-API I/O platform that enables more efficient use of decentralised I/O across a machine. The CPX-AP-I16DIO M12 module provides 16 channels that can each be configured as a digital input or output. Users can configure the module channel by channel, divide it into eight inputs and eight outputs, or configure all 16 channels as outputs. Some output channels deliver up to 500mA for high-current devices. The module comes with a default 16-input configuration for immediate installation and commissioning, while output functions are enabled through software parameterisation. LED status indicators on each channel simplify commissioning and troubleshooting. A single M12 module can support a wider range of machine configurations than fixed I/O modules, reducing the number of variants that need to be specified, stocked and maintained. It is part of Festo’s CPX-AP-I decentralised I/O platform that distributes I/O, valve terminals, and IO-Link devices throughout a machine, and supports up to 80 modules over distances of up to 50m between modules. The platform reduces wiring, simplifies modular machine architectures, and allows machine-builders to expand or reconfigure systems without redesigning the entire control architecture. Festo has also introduced a bus node for the platform that supports CC-Link IE Field Basic, allowing machine-builders to integrate CPX-AP-I decentralised I/O into Mitsubishi PLC architectures without needing additional gateways or custom engineering. The TC03A thermal camera helps to identify thermal problems, while the ii01 camera uses acoustic imaging to pinpoint gas and compressed-air leaks. The ability to make inspections without physical contact makes thermal imaging useful for assessing multiple assets or areas that are difficult, time-consuming or unsafe to reach. The TC03A thermal camera combines 384 × 288 thermal resolution with a SuperResolution of up to 768 × 576 to provide detailed images, while manual focus allows inspections from close-ups to more distant, difficult-to-access equipment. Fluke’s iSee app provides temperature-difference insights, multi-mode alerts and real-time warnings to assess findings and make informed decisions in the field. The Fluke ii01 acoustic camera uses SoundMap technology to help locate air and gas leaks. With a detection frequency of 2– 48kHz and a range of up to 50m, it can scan large areas and pinpoint leaks without needing to inspect every connection. A one-key leak mode highlights potential leak sources, while realtime dB readings provide extra diagnostic information. The cameras are part of Fluke’s iSee mobile imaging series and can be used with its iSee app for real-time capture, reporting, and sharing of images and data. The compact, rugged devices are IP54-protected. The compact design of the EWC coupling makes it particularly suitable for applications where installation space is tight. For systems where the coupling is difficult to access, there is a splithub version (EWR) that allows easy installation without needing to remove adjacent components. The couplings cover a nominal torque range from 1.5–1,200Nm and can be used at speeds of up to 28,000 rpm. Their corrosionresistant construction makes them particularly suitable for demanding environments, including sterile and acidic conditions. Instead of conventional adhesive bonding, the couplings’ bellows are joined using precision micro-plasma welding which creates a permanent, reliable connection and provides unlimited fatigue strength, ensuring a long service life even under demanding cyclic loads. The couplings are designed for operating temperatures from –40°C to +350°C. The PF15xx sensor combines a robust ceramic measuring cell with an integral display and parameter setting, giving immediate visibility at the point of measurement. The sensor addresses the challenge of media adhering to internal surfaces of pipes, causing blockages or damaging conventional measuring cells. The ceramic cell withstands highly viscous and abrasive media as well as pressure peaks. It eliminates dead space where media could accumulate, thus preventing blockages. Fluids cannot enter the thread area, even under high pressure, preventing media from settling, mixing with subsequent media, or causing contamination. The IP67/68/69-protected sensor provides continuous, simultaneous measurements of pressure and temperature via IO-Link, reducing the number of measuring locations needed. Alternatively, analogue and digital outputs are available. The rotatable display provides a clear read-out of process values, while threebutton operation allows the PF15 to be configured on site without additional tools or software. It achieves a deviation of less than ±0.5% of the span, and a temperature accuracy of ±2.0K. Ten variants are available with measuring ranges from –1...1 bar to 0...100 bar. ifm electronic 0208 213 0000 www.ifm.com/uk
