British Fluid Power Association 2023

Benefits of Membership During these challenging times, the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) continues to provide its members with a range of services and sources of valuable information. The membership of the Association is diverse and serves all levels and sectors within industry. We fully recognise this and ensure there is a category of membership that will suit you and your organisation precisely. Training The Association offers a suite of training courses that are without peer within the fluid power and related technologies sectors. These courses are available to individuals within the fluid power and related equipment and services sector with the aim of raising and maintaining standards of efficiency together with health and safety. Many courses are now also available in an online format. Indeed, this format is becoming increasingly popular among members. More detailed information on these courses can be found within this edition of the BFPA Yearbook & Members’ Directory. BFPA membership Open to all hydraulic, pneumatic and motion control manufacturers and suppliers, Association members gain unlimited access to a wide range of products and services. Members generally sell only their own branded products, which may be manufactured in the UK or abroad. Subscriptions are based on annual sales directly associated with fluid power equipment in and from the UK. Distributor membership Membership of the Association is open to independent distributors of fluid power equipment. Companies joining as distributor members often have fluid power sales as the greatest part of their total turnover, and a distribution or stockist agreement in place with at least one fluid power components and systems manufacturer. Distributor members usually sell a range of different brands of fluid power products. Associate member Associate members are usually companies with links to the industry, but do not focus their main business in fluid power. They may, for example, provide components or services, and be end users or OEMs that manufacture or use machines that rely on hydraulic or pneumatic technology. Education, training and research member This membership is for colleges, universities, training companies and research establishments whose primary function is technical training, learning, research and testing at all levels, with a fluid power capability. Consultant member Consultant membership is available to consultants who have expertise in hydraulics and/or pneumatics and are offering consultancy services relating to fluid power technology. Consultant members adhere to the BFPA’s code of practice for consultants, which promotes best practice. How to join To find out more about the BFPA, please visit the Association’s website, where you can also request or download a membership pack, a membership application form, and view our articles of association for each membership category.
