Turning AI into industrial advantage The latest Make UK report on AI adoption in manufacturing provides a timely snapshot of where the sector currently stands. While awareness of artificial intelligence continues to grow, the findings suggest the implementation across UK manufacturing remains at an early stage, particularly within core production activities. According to the report, only a small proportion of manufacturers have fully embedded AI into their businesses, while a significant number have yet to adopt it at all. Where AI is being used, it is most commonly found in backoffice functions such as HR, finance and administration rather than in production, quality control or supply chain operations.
