The L60+ Thermocouple & Fine Wire Welder, manufactured by Labfacility, is a compact, simple-to-use instrument designed for thermocouple and fine wire welding. It is primarily designed for use by sensor manufacturers to produce commercial grade thermocouple junctions; it is ideal for producing large numbers of exposed junction thermocouples for test and development laboratories. Use of the Thermocouple Welder does not require special skills and most operatives will be capable of producing quality work with little practice. The instrument is supplied with a full range of user accessories including a footswitch You can now buy Labfacility products through DigiKey and Farnell, our trusted global distributors t| +44 (0) 1243 871280 / +44 (0) 1909 569446 e:| sales@labfacility.com w| https://www.labfacility.com/ https://www.labfacility.com/temperature-instrumentation/ l60-thermocouple-fine-wire-welder/l60-welder-with-full-accessory-kit/ l60-welder-test.html 34 | Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk February/March 2026 Industry Update L60+ Thermocouple & Fine Wire Welder and Accessories Sensor specialist BAUMER says it offers the best choice of IO-Link sensor products enabling customers to achieve unmatched speed, accuracy, and usability in a manufacturing application. When looking for the widest range of sensors which offer the important combination of best-in-class precision, optimum measuring ranges and frequencies, backed-up by in-depth expertise, Baumer can deliver the complete connectivity solution from Sensors to PLC and lloT. Whatever challenges are faced in an application, customers will find the right sensing solution in the Baumer toolbox. Highlights of the IO-Link sensor portfolio includes the 50 Series Process Sensors offering bestin-class precision, measuring range and response time. Although a compact design, they feature an-easy-to-view large touch colour display within a robust, sealed stainless steel housing, along with easy and standardised operation across the entire 50 series. When a processing application demands the need to measure pressure precisely and reliably across different media, the 50 series are ideal for demanding hygienic and other similar applications. Sensing applications requiring precise position control, quality inspection and thickness measurement performed to the highest levels of precision and repeatability, this is where the OM60 Laser Distance Sensors excel. Typical applications are in the automotive, electronics and robotics industries where the benefits of OM60 sensors include the ability to measure distances up to 1000mm, linearity deviation up to ± 0.03 % MR, measurement frequency up to 3.3 kHz, along with a digital interface such as IO-Link or RS485. t| +44 1793 783839 e| sales.uk@baumer.com More at| IO-Link Sensor Portfolio | Baumer Great Britain https://www.baumer.com/gb/en/solutions/digitalization/io-link-sensorportfolio/a/io-link-sensor-portfolio Hoist & Winch, a leading industrial lifting equipment supplier, with many successful water industry infrastructure projects under its belt, was approached to provide a comprehensive and robustly tested lifting solution for a specialist marine subcontractor. This demanding reservoir application required the transfer of three large-diameter pumping station pipes – each weighing 30 tonnes – across the reservoir waters and up the inclined slope of its dam wall. This complex hire equipment project required a triple-aspect approach. Firstly, to move each pipe across the water, Hoist & Winch had to supply, install, commission, load-test and LOLER-certify two air-powered chain hoists offering 20-tonne safe working load (SWL). The company proposed a pair of JDN top-hook suspension air hoists, each with its own load chain collector box, air service unit and air supply hoses. The hoist units are each controlled by an individually connected, heavy-duty, air-powered pendant control. They were fixed to the customer’s free-standing fixed gantries on two fabricated floating pontoons (20t SWL), which Hoist & Winch also had to load-test and LOLER-certify. Secondly, Hoist & Winch was tasked with providing a similar package of services for a large-capacity hydraulic winch system. Here, the company recommended a 12t SWL floor-mounted hydraulic winch with wire rope, diesel-powered hydraulic power unit, joystick control stand and interconnecting hoses. The winch was required to pull each pipe up the inclined slope of the reservoir’s dam wall in conjunction with two rail-mounted travelling gantries (20t SWL) fabricated by the customer. Lastly, the customer wanted Hoist & Winch to supply four 15t SWL manual chain blocks t| 08450 171126 e| sales@hoistandwinch.co.uk w| www.hoistandwinch.co.uk Dam Wall Proves No Obstacle An important part of achieving and maintaining the correct levels of safety and minimising risk is the need to meet recognised universal standards, such as IEC 61508. Condition monitoring specialist Sensonics is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of overspeed protection, vibration protection, and turbine supervisory products, some of which are available with SIL Certified systems according to IEC 61508 standards. These include its XPR04 eddy current proximity probe, its PZDC velocity vibration transducer and most significantly its highly successful Sentry G3 Condition Monitoring system. Another well established and successful dual channel protection system developed by Sensonics is the DN26 G3, a compact, din rail mountable unit ideally suited to a wide range of small to medium machinery monitoring applications. With IEC 61508 SIL certification currently in progress, this highly effective and industry-proven sensor has generated plenty of in-the-field data to enable certification in the very near future. Today end-users, regulators and insurance companies often require evidence of risk reduction and reliability for critical systems, helping to prove compliance, manage risk and ensure safety, especially for SIL Levels 2,3 & 4. While the standard itself outlines processes, third party certification provides validated proof of adherence, therefore reducing liability and demonstrating rigorous safety. t| +44 (0) 1442 876833 e| sales@sensonics.co.uk w| www.sensonics.co.uk High Integrity Machine Protection Systems Best Choice in IO-Link Sensors
