The latest developments in Sensor and Incremental Encoder technology are helping engineers to exploit new possibilities in drive technology along with the benefits of expanding factory automation. A good example of this are the revolutionary incremental encoders available from sensors specialist BAUMER which combine the benefits of Low Harmonics signal correction and wear-free design ensuring precision, even under demanding conditions. One of the options in its smart sensor range is the EB260 incremental encoder, a bearing less rotary encoder which combines the precision of optical sensing with the robustness and cost-effectiveness of magnetic systems, while minimising installation space. This innovative encoder is designed to eliminate signal errors caused by mounting, temperature, ageing and mechanical factors, which results in maximum precision and enhanced control quality. The integrated airgap monitor continuously records the distance of the magnetic rotor, so even the smallest changes caused by damage to the machine mechanics are monitored and reported to the higher-level system. An important feature is that the EB260 has built-in IO-Link which enables optimum configuration flexibility. The software behind this is the intuitive Baumer Sensor Suite, the configurable motion monitor and switching output as well as squarewave, sine / cosine and IOI-Link interfaces. Additionally, no shaft or a stator coupling is required so the need for a complex sealing or cover is eliminated thanks to its encapsulated suite software. Other benefits of the encoders compact space-saving integral design include simple installation into existing systems with flexible shaft diameters and mounting types, along with the need for only 11mm installation depth. Typical applications for the EB260 encoder include speed control for asynchronous motors, precise incremental positioning, motion monitoring, overspeed, direction and standstill along with airgap, temperature, and signal quality control. t| +44 (0) 1793 783839 | sales.uk@baumer.com w| https://www.baumer.com/gb/en/product-overview/rotary-encoders-angle-sensors/bearinglessencoders/magnetic-ring-encoder-industrial/eb260/c/91644 Industry Update October/November 2025 Plant & Works Engineering www.pwemag.co.uk | 33 Smart Condition Monitoring with Incremental Encoder Critical fluid handling applications where precision control is essential, will appreciate the revolutionary DISC PUMP developed by the LEE Company who have been providing innovative solutions to help customers solve the toughest fluid control challenges for over 75 years. This innovative ultrasonic, pneumatic piezoelectric micropump delivers unrivalled performance in applications where optimum control of small volumes is critical. Applications include micro-fluidics, pipetting, wearable devices and portable sensing technologies across the medical, life science and environmental monitoring industries. The key features of this disc pump all contribute to a revolutionary design resulting in; ultrafast, millisecond response time, silent, vibration operation (?10 dB), high precision controllability ?0.1%, true pulsation free flow, in a lightweight (5g) compact package (29mm diameter). While not designed to flow liquids directly, its infinite turn-down ratio and pulsation-free flow performance enables users to control liquids indirectly via an air-over liquid method. Furthermore, as a disc pump, it allows users to generate and control a head pressure (air) with unprecedented resolution, resulting in optimum precision liquid dispensing or displacement (labon-a-chip). Specific applications include pick & place robotics, patient simulators, compression therapy, blood pressure monitoring, and time-metered dosing. Every pump is 100% functionally tested for performance and designed using materials that ensure consistent long-term performance. t| +44 1 753 - 886664 e| sales@leeproducts.co.uk w| https://www.theleeco.com/uk/ https| //www.theleeco.com/disc-pumps/?utm_source=email-newsletter&utm_medium=dpauk-marchnewsletter&utm_campaign=piezoelectricdiscpump Watch Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gS4loVvzWo&utm_source=press-release&utm_medium=pressrelease&utm_campaign=health-and-science-brand-awareness&utm_content=disc-pump-video Disc Pumps Deliver Highly Precise, Ultra-Smooth Flow Control Hermetically Sealed Wire Thermocouple & RTD Sensors An IP67 wire sensor that is hermetically sealed for use in corrosive or wet environments.
