RUBIX, a leading UK supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, has announced it has released a new brochure, produced with bearings manufacturer SKF.‘SKF Cooper Split E- Series Bearings’ is a 6-page brochure that highlights how to reduce downtime, enhance worker safety, and increase efficiency, particularly in harsh or inaccessible applications where mounting, dismantling or maintenance can be a challenge. Replacing damaged or worn bearings in heavy machinery that requires servicing or maintenance can be a problematic. Often faced with complex dismantling and assembly procedures – involving costly production losses from machinery shut down - it can take more than one person many hours to change a solid bearing. In extreme cases, it may even be necessary to break and replace a piece of expensive equipment to remove a faulty solid bearing. w | uk.rubix.com Supply chain solutions and services company RENOVOTEC has announced it is launching a free three-month trial for its printer audit service. The audit helps a supply chain company to understand its printer estate: how many printers it has, where they are located and what condition they are in. This enables management to make timely media and maintenance decisions that can reduce print costs by more than a third and increase shopfloor and warehouse printer productivity by over 25% according to Renovotec industry feedback. “Print is vital to the supply chain but is not always given the attention it deserves” says Renovotec CEO Richard Gilliard (pictured). “This free trial will help to educate the industry on the business benefits of printer estate auditing and the data that it delivers.” w | www.renovotec.com Monitoring the performance of large rotating plant is an essential part of proactive maintenance helping to avert problems whilst prolonging the life and efficiency of plant and equipment. However, what about the servicing and calibration of the actual condition monitoring systems? To provide the function, efficiency and true value, the monitoring systems themselves require regular calibration and servicing. For example, an incorrectly calibrated sensor may not provide the accurate alerts you need to replace wearing or faulty components in time to prevent downtime and may even invalidate your insurance. Condition monitoring specialist SENSONICS offer not only a wide range of industry leading vibration, temperature, position and rotational speed systems for large rotary plant, they also provide calibration, servicing and spares which will help customers get the best value from their investment. t | 01442 876833 e | sales@sensonics.co.uk w | www.sensonics.co.uk w | www.sensonics.co.uk/maintenance-support OMRON ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS EUROPE has announced the introduction of its B5WC Colour Sensor, which enables monitoring of equipment, plant, and industrial processes through detection of small colour changes. Specific applications are being developed through co-creation with industry partners. The colour sensor uses a white LED to emit light and receive reflected light according to the colour of detected objects. The colour sensor separates received reflected light into red, green, and blue, then outputs RGB data as voltage values using the I2C interface. Applications range from monitoring of lubricant deterioration in robot arms and elevators, through drinks dispensers, to object detection on production lines. Omron’s new B5WC promises an innovative solution to these issues. t | +31 235 681 296 e | info-components-eu@omron.com w | https://components.omron.com/eu-en Don’t forget to maintain and calibrate Maintenance Matters February/March 2023 www.pwemag.co.uk Plant & Works Engineering | 21 New opportunities in industrial monitoring Offline filtration unit series Raise efficiency & lower costs Printer audit scheme RMF SYSTEMS, a subsidiary of Des-Case Corporate, a global manufacturer of specialty filtration products that can improve equipment reliability and extend lubricant life, has extended its product portfolio with ATEX zone II certified Offline filtration unit series. The unit offers best in class kidney loop filtration in combination with an ATEX zone II certification. The AZ2- OLU series comes in 4 sizes covering oil volumes up to 5400 litres. The unit utilises industry known RMF Systems high efficiency radial depth filter elements or RMF Systems glass fibre filter elements for filtration of solid contamination, free & dissolved water, and delay of acid, varnish, and sludge formation. In addition, the AZ2-OLU series contributes to less CO2 emissions by prolonging fluid lifetime and extending the time between oil changes. t | +31 (0)182 24 48 88 e | sales.emea@dascase.com w | www.descase.com/products/rmf-solutions/ MATARA UK, a specialist in automation, pneumatics and linear motion products, has launched its new website at www.matara.com .
