C.K TOOLS has introduced several additions to its power tool accessories offering, with five new SKUs added to its Blue Steel impact drill bits range. The range extension includes a number of C.K Tools’ most popular impact drill bits but now available in trade pack sizes, reducing the need for merchant trips in the middle of jobs. Developed in collaboration with trade professionals, the Blue Steel impact drill bits are manufactured from specially formulated V8 steel alloy for extreme toughness and extended working life. They also feature torsion control technology to withstand the stresses of high torque applications and are also colour coded to aid with easy identification in any tool bag or work environment. w | www.ck-tools.com/find-a-stockist BRAMMER, BUCK & HICKMAN a leading UK supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, has announced it has launched a new fast and flexible Bore and Keyway Machining Service. This latest addition to the company’s range of engineering services has seen new bore, keyway and grubscrew machinery installed, operated by experienced in-house engineers. Now, Brammer Buck & Hickman says it can rework products to suit customers’ specific requirements and within a short time frame. The new Bore and Keyway Machining Service encompasses horizontal and vertical adaptations. The service that is expected to have the greatest demand is machining customer bore and keyways into pilot bored products such as sprockets and couplings. w | uk.rubix.com/en/service/engineering-services Industrial process heating equipment and solutions specialist BABCOCK WANSON has announced it has launched two new electric boiler ranges: the VAP EL 400V three-phase, 50Hz electric steam boiler, with models from 16 to 360 kW; and the e-Pack industrial electric boiler, with models from 500 to 17,000 KG/H. As with all electric steam boilers, VAP EL and e-Pack use electrical energy to boil water and produce steam for process heating. Unlike many others though, they are configured for high efficiency approaching 100% with only minor standing losses. The boilers start quickly on demand – ideal for locations where grid power fluctuates - and react well to change of load. Steam can be produced in a matter of minutes depending on the capacity of the boiler. w | www.babcock-wanson.com Today’s sophisticated vibration condition monitoring systems are designed to provide comprehensive and efficient feedback combined with optimum flexibility. However, the cost of these systems can be difficult to justify for monitoring smaller rotating plant and equipment such as pumps, motors, fans, centrifuges, turbines, or any item of small to medium machinery. SENSONICS says it offers the ideal solution with its DN26 G3 machine protection monitor a highly effective stand-alone monitor which complements its successful range of rack-mounted products. The dual channel din rail mountable DN26G3 unit provides monitoring of bearing vibration, shaft vibration, or shaft position with fully programmable signal conditioning and includes a range of measurement algorithms and sensor options. The unit is designed for optimum flexibility; as a universal module (single hardware platform) and is field upgradable and fully programmable. t | 01442 876833 e | sales@sensonics.co.uk w | www.sensonics.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/AB14-760R1.pdf w | www.sensonics.co.uk High efficiency electric boilers The extensive range of Finish Thompson FTI Air-Operated Double Diaphragm pumps (AODD) has recently been expanded with the addition of a new 1 ⁄ 4 ” non-metallic model, available in polypropylene, PVDF and also conductive polypropylene for use in ATEX areas. Available in the UK from pump specialist MICHAEL SMITH ENGINEERS the FT025 model delivers a maximum flow rate of 22 lit/min (5.8 gpm) at a maximum air supply pressure of 120 psi (8.3 bar). The FT025 extends the minimum flow capabilities of these rugged and reliable pumps and bring the important benefits of using AODD pumps to a wider range of pumping applications. Typical applications will include handling acids, bases, plating solutions, wastewater, paints, inks, solvents, ceramic slip and glaze, lubricants and oils. t | FREEPHONE: 0800 316 7891 e | Info@michael-smith-engineers.co.uk w | www.michael-smith-engineers.co.uk/products/finish-thompson/air-operated-double-diaphragm-pumps Pump range expanded Maintenance Matters September 2022 www.pwemag.co.uk Plant & Works Engineering | 21 Bore and keyway machining service Cost-effective vibration measurement ABB’s IRB 390 FlexPacker industrial Delta robot designed for ultra-fast packing has been chosen for the Red Dot Product Design Award - the second ABB robot to receive the prestigious award in two consecutive years. The global Red Dot Design Awards recognise achievements in product design, with the jury – comprised of over 50 international design experts - testing and evaluating thousands of entries every year. In 2022, the Red Dot Award panel looked for products that showed design quality and a high degree of innovation – attributes that informed the FlexPacker’s development from the beginning. The award reflects the importance of design in robotics as more automated solutions are rolled out to collaborate with humans and compliment skilled work to make production safer and more sustainable. w | go.abb/robotics Red Dot Award for industrial robot New drill bits leave lasting impact
