Unlike traditional membership categories, SIG Membership provides a flexible route for organisations that may not fit within the Association’s existing structure but still wish to engage with key industry developments and discussions. The SIG programme reflects the growing role of fluid power technology across a diverse range of industries, from manufacturing, construction and aerospace to agriculture, energy, transport and automation. It provides a valuable forum for end users and industry specialists to exchange knowledge, share operational experience and collaborate on solutions to common challenges. A central aim of the initiative is to strengthen links between equipment users and technical experts, helping to inform future training, industry guidance and bestpractice resources. Participants will also gain insight into emerging technologies, evolving standards and legislative developments that are shaping the future of the sector. Initial areas of focus are expected to include: 4 Fluid Power Safety 4 Reliability and Maintenance 4 Energy Efficiency and Sustainability 4 Motion Control and Automation 4 Hydrogen Technologies 4 Skills and Workforce Development 4 Digitalisation and Industry 4.0 4 Emerging Technologies and Innovation The British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) has launched a new Special Interest Group (SIG) Membership category, creating an inclusive platform for organisations and individuals across the fluid power sector to collaborate, share expertise and help shape the future of the industry. Get involved, share your expertise, and play a part in shaping the future of fluid power. To find out more or register your interest, contact the BFPA at enquiries@bfpa.co.uk or visit www.bfpa.co.uk Far more than a networking forum, the Special Interest Groups will help drive the development of guidance documents, white papers and best-practice resources, while providing informed technical input to BFPA committees and the wider engineering industry. The BFPA believes the programme will make a significant contribution to the future of the industry by encouraging innovation, strengthening skills development and promoting the adoption of safer, more efficient and more sustainable engineering practices. The introduction of the SIG Membership programme reflects the BFPA’s commitment to building stronger connections across the fluid power community. By bringing together end users, manufacturers, suppliers and technical experts, the initiative will provide a collaborative platform for knowledge exchange, industry engagement and the development of solutions to shared challenges. Through this expanded network, the BFPA aims to support innovation, strengthen skills development and promote best practice, helping to drive the continued evolution of fluid power technology throughout the UK. Organisations and individuals interested in contributing to the future of fluid power are encouraged to join the BFPA’s Special Interest Group network. The initiative offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry peers, share expertise and help shape best practice, innovation and skills development across the sector.
