interact to provide added value across the value chain. The digitalisation of hydraulics offers significant potential for increasing the productivity and efficiency of hydraulic systems. At Hannover Messe, Bosch Rexroth showcased a range of practical solutions, focusing on a tangible example rather than abstract models. The technologies were brought together on a real deep-drawing press, enabling visitors to see first-hand how they can interact and deliver practical benefits. The deep-drawing press also illustrated how valuable product information can be accessed quickly and easily. A simple scan of a QR code on a component provided access to its digital twin in the form of the standardised Asset Administration Shell (AAS). This gives users immediate access to relevant data, ranging from technical documentation and certificates to information about a component’s CO? footprint, reducing the need to search through physical files or multiple websites. The potential of digitalisation lies in the intelligent connection and use of this data. Bosch Rexroth has developed its Asset Orchestration Platform (AOP) software solution to collect and orchestrate data from individual components and their administration shells, making it available to higher-level applications once the data has been analysed. In this way, the platform provides a basis for efficient control and accelerated commissioning, while enabling greater flexibility for future requirements. Bosch Rexroth highlighted the interaction between AOP and its IoT service, CytroConnect Solutions. The system showed how real-time machine data, including information from sensors measuring pressure, temperature and oil quality, can be collected, fed into the AOP via the administration shell and used by higher-level applications such as condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. Visitors were also shown how events identified through condition monitoring can trigger an active and dynamic response within the AOP, while retaining the ability to involve human operators where required. Project Fluid 4.0 The Fluid 4.0 research project brought together an industrial consortium to advance the development of the administration shell as a digital twin within a cross-industry data space, helping to establish a cross-manufacturer, open standard for fluid technology. Building on existing infrastructure, companies and institutions from industry and academia worked to digitalise practical applications, with Bosch Rexroth acting as project coordinator. As coordinator of the “Fluid 4.0” research project, Bosch Rexroth has played a key role in shaping the digital transformation of fluid technology. Earlier this year at Hannover Messe 2026, Bosch Rexroth together with other members of the project, presented solutions for the digitalised and efficient future of fluid technology at the Plattform Industrie 4.0 joint booth of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
