This strategic investment marks a new chapter for the company, significantly increasing the complexity, precision, and speed with which Ram Reman can produce high-quality hydraulic components and bespoke engineered parts, including cylinders, manifolds, fittings and caps. The state-of-the-art High-Performance Turning Centre is designed for maximum productivity. It features include a Y-axis and Live Tooling, which allows for “onehit” machining. This means that complex milling, drilling, and tapping operations can be performed on the same machine, eliminating the need for multiple setups on different machines. For customers of Ram Reman, the introduction of the new machining capability is expected to deliver a number of practical benefits. Completing components in a single setup can significantly reduce overall production time, helping to shorten turnaround on refurbishment and manufacturing work. Accuracy is also improved, as the need to transfer parts between multiple machines is removed. This reduces the potential for handling errors and supports tighter machining tolerances. The addition of Y-axis functionality allows for more complex geometries to be produced, including off-centre features that would previously have required more manual intervention. This expands the range of components that can be processed in-house. In terms of capacity, the machine offers a turning diameter of 320 mm along with an extended bed length in the LTY configuration. This makes it well suited to the large rods and cylinders that form a core part of Ram Reman’s operations. The investment is part of a wider group strategy by the Rotec Group to stay at the forefront of the UK engineering sector. By integrating this advanced technology into the Ram Reman facility, both Ram Reman and Rotec Hydraulics are better equipped to support critical sectors including construction, marine, agriculture, defence and industrial manufacturing. Tony Foster, Technical Manager at Ram Reman Ltd, commented: “The arrival of the new CNC machine is a game-changer for our workshop. The machine allows us to take on more complex work in-house, ensuring we maintain total control over quality while significantly reducing lead times for our clients.” Ram Reman invests in advanced CNC technology Jubilee Clips acquires assets of NewTech Tools Jubilee Clips has acquired the assets of NewTech Tools Ltd, with the transaction financed through positive operating cashflow. Jubilee Clips, a manufacturer of hose clips and clamps with a history spanning more than 100 years, has worked with NewTech Tools for several years. NewTech Tools, established in 2001, specialised in the manufacture of press tools and pressed parts. Commenting on the acquisition, Jubilee Clips Managing Director Ian Jennings outlined the background to the relationship between the two companies. “We first engaged NewTech Tools in 2018, around the time that we were re-locating the operations of our previous acquisition (Elms Lightning Fasteners) from Birmingham to our Kent base. Dick Cordery and his team showed great expertise and delivered much more than the extra toolroom capacity that we were looking for at that time. This then developed into orders for a number of tools as we expanded certain newer ranges in our portfolio allowing us to bring new lines to market much faster.” NewTech Tools owner Dick Cordery said, “We were always really proud to work with a truly world leading manufacturer. It was quite natural for Jubilee to acquire the assets when I decided to retire and close the business.” Jennings also acknowledged the contribution of the NewTech team, thanking “Dick and his team for their support over the last eight years and looking forward to absorbing additional processes at our two manufacturing sites in Gillingham.”
