Global energy solutions leader Aggreko has expanded its specialist industrial HVAC and process temperature team with two senior appointments in Europe. With over 40 years of combined experience at Aggreko, Andreas Essmann has been named Business Development Manager for Temperature Control and HVAC in Europe North, while Christophe Chihaoui becomes Head of Temperature Control for France, also supporting Europe South. They join Chris Smith, recently appointed Head of Temperature Control for the UK and Ireland, to strengthen Aggreko’s expertise across sectors including manufacturing. The team provides temporary and supplementary cooling, heating, and dehumidification solutions to support maintenance, system upgrades, temperature spikes, and unplanned outages. Their appointments follow a summer of extreme weather and record-breaking heatwaves, which highlighted risks to safety, operations, and process stability. Increased strain on HVAC systems has driven demand for temporary, efficient solutions during critical works. OMRON Industrial Automation Europe has appointed Marc Ioannidis as General Manager UK & Ireland. He succeeds Sam Tilley, who is now General Manager Nordic Countries. In this role, Marc reports to Vince King, Sales Director North and Emerging Region, and is responsible for leading OMRON’s UK & Ireland operations, driving growth, and strengthening the company’s position in key markets. With more than 25 years of experience in the automation sector, Marc joined OMRON in 2008 and has held a series of senior sales and channel management roles, most recently serving as General Sales Manager for the UK & Ireland. Over the past 17 years at OMRON, he has played a pivotal role in developing strategic partnerships, expanding market reach, and delivering customer-focused solutions. Marc Ioannidis commented: “I’m honoured to take on this role and lead such a dedicated team. The UK and Ireland remain dynamic and innovative markets for industrial automation, and I’m looking forward to building on our strong foundations to deliver further success for our customers and partners.” 44 HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS September 2025 www.hpmag.co.uk NEW FACES David Seabridge become CEO of Powerstar Aggreko expands European industrial HVAC team OMRON appoints new General Manager for UK & Ireland Powerstar, provider of smart power solutions for the energy transition, has announced the appointment of David Seabridge as Chief Executive Officer.
