Packed with up-to-date supplier contact information, industry updates, and expert commentary, the Yearbook offers valuable insights for professionals across the fluid power sector. Reflecting on Progress and Navigating Challenges BFPA Managing Director Chris Butcher (left) marks the Association’s 65th anniversary year by reviewing key milestones, including growth in membership and the expansion of its training footprint in 2024. He also acknowledges the challenges currently facing the industry – from supply chain pressures to inflation and regulatory demands – and highlights BFPA’s proactive efforts to support members in navigating these complexities. Driving Digitalisation and Motion Control A key feature of this year’s publication is the growing role of digital technologies in fluid power applications. Innovations such as condition monitoring, leak detection, and vibration analysis are helping companies improve reliability, reduce downtime, and operate more sustainably. Education & Training: A Core Focus Education and training continue to be central to the BFPA’s mission to support and strengthen the UK fluid power industry. With a growing network of 29 approved training centres across the country, the Association is committed to delivering high-quality, accessible learning opportunities for professionals at all levels. A major milestone in this journey is the recent launch of the BFPA Leadership & Management Academy, developed in partnership with Impact Futures. This initiative is designed to equip future leaders with the skills and confidence needed to navigate an increasingly complex industrial landscape. Over the past five years, more than 10,000 individuals have benefited from BFPA’s training programmes – highlighting the Association’s dedication to nurturing talent and raising standards across the sector. Martin Kingsbury, (left) BFPA’s Director of Membership and Training, outlines exciting plans to further enhance the Association’s professional development offering. In addition to the Leadership & Management Academy, new Level 2 training courses are set to launch in 2025, expanding the BFPA’s portfolio and offering tailored development pathways to support members throughout their careers.
