Morton began his career in engineering in the early 1980s, serving an apprenticeship as a Mechanical Engineer. Transitioning to sales after being influenced by a former colleague, Edward Wylie, Morton has since worked across various sectors, including refineries, hospitals, breweries, distilleries, and transportation. He finds motivation in sales engineering through customer interaction and problem-solving, a trait he believes aligns well with Holmbury’s capabilities. Pier Solutions, a leading engineering and modular solutions provider, has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Finance Director (FD) as part of a strategic move to drive growth in the energy sector. Jordan Ferguson, who served as interim CEO since late 2023, has been named CEO. Ferguson brings extensive commercial experience from roles at Valor Energy Group, Hutcheon Mearns, and H2scan, as well as running his own consultancy focused on investment and strategic growth. Doug Gibb joins as Finance Director, with over 10 years of experience in senior finance positions. Gibb has previously worked with Ferguson in their consultancy, supporting several SMEs through significant growth in the energy industry both domestically and internationally. The new leadership team, alongside recently promoted members of the original management team and a staff of 22, plans to recruit additional staff to support the business’s new strategy.
