The origins of today’s Infranor Group date back more than a century to the Swiss-based Perrot Duval Group, whose activities once included largescale architectural lighting projects around the world. Under the Infranor brand, the company contributed to the illumination of internationally recognized landmarks including the Eiffel Tower in Paris and major bridges in New York during the 1950s and 1960s. Over the following decades, the group shifted its focus toward industrial electronics, automation and motioncontrol technologies. Founded in 1969 as the first international subsidiary of the group, Infranor GmbH today supports customers across Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia and the UK as part of the global Infranor Group. The UK market continues to represent an important part of the company’s European activities. While UK operations have been coordinated from Germany since 2023, Infranor continues to support demanding motion-control applications and long-standing customer installations throughout the region. A particular focus remains on highperformance simulation technologies, including motorsport simulators, flight simulators and steer-by-wire applications, where motion quality, torque smoothness and dynamic response are critical. Applications such as force-feedback systems and steerby-wire platforms require exceptionally smooth torque delivery combined with highly dynamic servo response characteristics. Infranor provides advanced expertise in the development and customization of servo drive systems for demanding industrial applications — even at low production volumes. Customization capabilities include electromagnetic design, mechanical configuration, thermal optimization and dynamic performance in order to optimize system precision, efficiency and integration. One of the group’s most advanced technologies is the cogging-free servo motor range from Mavilor. By eliminating cogging torque entirely, these motors enable exceptionally smooth and precise motion characteristics, making them particularly suitable for haptically sensitive systems and force-feedback applications. Beyond simulation technology, the company also remains active in safetycritical sectors such as nuclear and defense-related applications, including specialized radiation-tolerant motor solutions. Lifecycle support continues to play an important role within the UK market. A significant installed base of Infranor servo motors and electronics remains in operation across various industries, with repair services and replacement solutions still available for many platforms. To support existing installations locally, Infranor also works with selected UK partners for certain repair activities using original manufacturer components. “Your Performance Partner” — customers and system integrators are encouraged to contact the team directly to discuss application-specific motioncontrol requirements.
