WEG has launched an online tool for configuring and selecting gearboxes and gearmotors quickly, intuitively and efficiently. The company says the Gear ProSelect tool will revolutionise the way gearboxes are sized and configured. Based on data such as mass, speed and inertia, the tool recommends the most suitable product for an application. The selection is complemented by mechanical and thermal validations, ensuring reliability and accuracy. Users can explore dimensions, view interactive 3D models, and obtain detailed specifications. For a more immersive experience, an augmented reality function is available. https://gearproselect.weg.net Videos showcase the future of industrial operations Rockwell Automation has announced a new season of its ROKStudios videos, including interviews with customers, partners and thought leaders on topics including digitalisation, sustainability and the evolving role of automation in shaping the future of industrial operations. Recorded at Rockwell's recent Automation Fair in Chicago, the new videos join more than 100 previous recordings at the ROKStudios portal. Subjects covered in the new series include: the role of execution systems in a new era; scaling circular manufacturing; and how sustainability is shaping industrial automation. www.rockwellautomation.com/ en-gb/company/news/presentations/rokstudios ISA publishes position paper on automation and ethical sourcing The International Society of Automation (ISA) has published a position paper on the topic of Automation and Ethical Sourcing. The paper explores how industrial automation technologies and practices can help organisations to strengthen their ethical sourcing across global supply chains, advancing transparency, accountability, worker safety and environmental stewardship, while supporting long-term business resilience. The paper outlines practical actions that decisionmakers can take to help companies and industries to realise the benefits of automation when it comes to ethical sourcing. www.isa.org/position-papers Brochure details inductive and photoelectric sensors The Swiss sensor-maker Contrinex has issued a 50-page brochure covering its latest sensing technologies, with sections devoted to smart inductive and photoelectric measurement sensors, a no-code IO-Link sensor configurator, and a new 3D smart camera. The publication also details the company’s inductive and photoelectric sensor ranges, as well as its machine safety and RFID families. Contrinex products are available in the UK from Plus Automation. www.plusautomation.co.uk 48 n NEW PRODUCTS n DESIGN DATA AND MULTIMEDIA February 2026 www.drivesncontrols.com Aerotech has launched a pair of compact six-axis drives for its secondgeneration family of hexapods, including its HEX150-125HL models. The Automation1-HXA4 and Automation1-iHXA4 drives manage the hexapod like any other axis on Aerotech’s Automation1 motion controller network, simplifying system designs without sacrificing performance, thus making highperformance hexapod control more accessible than ever. The Automation1HXA4 includes a full motion controller and drive in one package. www.aerotech.com igus is expanding its range of readycable assemblies for moving applications to include cables with connectors for Keyence vision systems. Users can connect the plug-and-play cables to moving high-speed cameras, without needing time-consuming and error-prone in-house designs. Igus can also supply ready-to-fit energy chains, known as readychains, to enhance to reliability of the moving camera systems. www.igus.co.uk Contrinex has announced an addition to its weld-immune sensors: the Ultra Weld Miniature Flat Pack, which offers a low-profile form factor without compromising structural integrity. Measuring 17 x 8 x 4.7mm, the sensors have an impact-resistant stainless-steel casing, engineered to ensure operational longevity even when close to welding lines and the paths of robotic machinery. The sensors are available from Plus Automation. www.plusautomation.co.uk Tool will ‘revolutionise’ gearbox configuration Puls has announced a new generation of DIN-rail power supplies that it says are the first to offer active load-sharing in parallel operation, allowing highpower systems to be achieved quicker using the fanless power supplies. Precise control balances the load between supplies, ensuring even thermal distribution and good reliability. The single- and three-phase Planet power supplies have ratings up to 960W. A 97% efficiency cuts energy losses, heat generation and operating costs, and enhances reliability. The 960W three-phase version is 79mm wide, saving space in control cabinets. For applications with dynamic loads – such as motor controls – the supplies offer Dynamic BonusPower, which adapts automatically to changing demands. The three-phase TP960 can provide reserves from 120% (continuous) to 200% (for 12 seconds), allowing acceleration to be handled without oversized supplies. Puls 01525 841001 www.pulspower.com/uk Phoenix Contact is offering a range of terminal blocks for conductor cross-sections from 0.34–2.5mm2. Previously, its Push-X terminal blocks were available with cross-sections of 2.5mm2, for connecting conductors from 0.5–4mm2. The new Push-X XT 1.5 blocks include feed-through, multiconductor, double-level, PE, and PV terminal versions. The blocks offer tool-free wiring of rigid and flexible conductors, and a factory-pretensioned contact spring for simple plugging. An orange pushbutton makes it easy to release and pre-tension the spring. Conductor connections are indicated clearly, with a click sound when the spring is released. With a nominal current of 17.5A and a nominal voltage of 500V, the blocks are suitable for manual or automated wiring.
