46 n NEW PRODUCTS February 2026 www.drivesncontrols.com WEG has announced a gearbox that combines the efficiency of helical gears with the costeffectiveness of worm drive boxes. Available in five sizes and delivering 130–1,600Nm of torque, the WG20 S gearbox – part of the WG20 geared motor line – has standard dimensions that allow interchangeability. It provides high transmission ratios in a single gearbox, and operates with low noise levels. There are multiple output shaft options, including solid shaft, hollow shaft with key, hollow shaft with shrink disc, and Easylock. Mounting options include housing, torque arm and flange. Customisable speed configurations and high efficiency allow reductions of up to 400 times. WEG International www.weg.net Ethernet switches have up to four fibre ports Festo has added an edge device to its AX family of controllers. The CEPE device is a highperformance industrial PC and controller for industrial motion and IoT applications. It uses the Festo AX operating system (OS), based on Phoenix Contact’s PLCnext technology, and offers an easily programmed, open ecosystem for modular automation. The configurable device can control and automate machines and production processes. It allows the programming and monitoring of processes including motion applications such as pick-and-place and palletising. It can also support machine visualisation and IoT data acquisition and analysis. The AX platform combines software modules, such as the OS, motion, visualisation, highlevel languages and low-code development tools with a scalable hardware platform. The controller combines an Intel i3 CPU with a wide range of interfaces and software functions. It can gather and analyse local data, program its own applications, and install third-party applications via various app stores. Its Linuxbased operating system allows users to develop their own applications using platforms such as C++, C#, Python or the IEC 61131 programming languages. Festo www.festo.com/ax-controls HMS Networks has launched a series of unmanaged Ethernet switches with up to four fibre ports for applications such as data acquisition, Ethernet I/O and process control. The N-Tron NT110 switches have eight highperformance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ-45) and two, three or four 100BaseFX fibre ports. They use store-andforward technology for full- and half-duplex operation. Two 1049V DC inputs are provided for redundancy. The switches are housed in rugged metal enclosures and offer high shock and vibration tolerance. The RJ-45 ports have ESD and surge protection. The fibre ports are available with SC or ST connectors in multi- or single-mode configurations. The switches carry UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations certification, as well as Atex and IECEx, in addition to IEEE 802.3 compliance and marine, railway and rolling stock certifications. HMS Networks www.hms-networks.com Mclennan is offering a new generation of integrated servomotors from the Danish manufacturer, JVL, which combine motor, encoder, drive and control electronics in a compact housing, eliminating the need for a separate control cabinet and reducing machine wiring complexity and costs. The seven-model MAC series includes options for 24–48V DC or 115/230V direct-on-line AC operation, in 60 and 80mm2 frame sizes, and with continuous power ratings from 400–1,500W (with 3x peak power), and speeds up to 3,000 rpm. The motors are said to offer significant performance and efficiency improvements over earlier versions, with faster processors and redesigned hardware that delivers precise, rapid control. The specification includes 100% duty cycles, 24/7 operation and 10-year operation. The servomotors have IP54 (optionally IP66) protection. Options include integrated brakes, gears, STO connectors with SoE, wireless communications and IOLink support. A built-in Ethernet interface provides PLC integration and supports protocols including Profinet, EtherNet/IP, EtherCat, Sercos, ModbusTCP/UDP and Powerlink. CANopen with DS 301 and DSP402 support is also available. The embedded PLC can be used with eight configurable I/O points as digital I/O or analogue inputs. I/O can also be assigned for use as local/remote control for a centralised PLC. The 55mmdiameter MC55 High light can be used as a classic machine light or as a one-click alternative to signal towers. There are three variants: a Standard version, available with three or seven colours, with or without a buzzer; an IO-Link version that offers control and parameterisation options, with functions, colours, and status configured centrally via IO-Link; and a Smart version, which can be configured via software for colour, light patterns (continuous, flashing, strobe or pulsed light), tones and time-based escalations. www.werma.co.uk Edge device handles motion and IoT applications New-generation integrated servomotors promise significant improvements
