47 www.drivesncontrols.com November/December 2025 NEW PRODUCTS n Binder is offering LED luminaires that combine white light for workplace illumination, with RGB colours for status indication. They are available in various colour temperatures, allowing the light to be adapted to an application, from daylight-like illumination for long working periods, to high-contrast light for inspection tasks. The 4,000K white light source ensures uniform, flicker-free aillumination. With a colour rendering index above 90, it allows the smallest details to be identified during testing and inspection. The status indicator uses the full RGBW colour spectrum. White light can indicate that processes are running smoothly. If a fault occurs, a red light can alert personnel. Other colours can be used, for example, to visualise processes or implement signal codes. The IP69K-protected luminaires withstand dust, water, oils, chemicals and cleaning processes. They have stainlesssteel components and comply with hygiene standards. The luminaires have operating lives of up to 50,000 hours. They have M12 connectors and come in 250, 358 and 412mm lengths, with a choice of transparent or frosted covers. Binder 01442 257339 www.binder-connector.com/uk maxon has released a zerobacklash gearhead that allows DC or brushless DC (BLDC) drives to achieve high levels of precision. The GSW A gearhead, which uses strainwave technology, offers a high reduction ratio in a compact footprint, and can deliver up to 71Nm of torque. The strainwave technology ensures continuous engagement of the gear teeth, increasing precision. Because the design engages more gear teeth, it improves load distribution and enhances torque density, delivering up to 27Nm of continuous torque, 37Nm intermittently, and 71Nm of overload torque. Single-stage reduction ratios are available up to 100:1, as well as 80:1 and 50:1. High torsional rigidity allows the gearhead to transmit motion without delay, enhancing dynamics. The gearhead can operate at intermittent input speeds up to 8,500 rpm. Backdrive allows the output shaft to drive the input shaft in reverse. A flat 55mm-diameter version is 30.3mm long, while a 62mmdiameter version is 32.4mm long. Hollow bores enable through routing of cables. maxon www.maxongroup.co.uk Electric extension slide combines rail, motor and controller Gateway integrates up to 15 motor starters Luminaires combine white light with colour signalling The Scottish manufacturer Power Jacks has launched a 10kN screwjack for actuation, lifting and positioning duties in machinery. The E-Series jack is available in four standard configurations and six variants. Customised versions can be produced. Bolt-on mounting points on each side of the gearbox, where the worm shaft is located, allow direct mounting of motors, feedback devices (such as encoders), brakes and other accessories. The integrated design reduces machine sizes, components counts and build costs. An aluminium alloy housing limits the screwjack’s weight, while sealed worm shaft bearings remove the need for cover flanges at each worm shaft end. This simplifies handling during building, as well as cutting weight and logistics costs. A self-lubricated guide bush offers precision alignment of the lifting screw, improving machine accuracy. A four-point mounting method improves rigidity, alignment and fixing strength, compared to two-bolt alternatives. Power Jacks www.powerjacks.com Igus has launched an electric telescopic extension slide that combines a rail, motor and controller into a compact maintenance-free device. The 42mm-high and 45mm-wide drylin NTM-45 slide has a maximum extension of 500mm. It can be used where linear systems with separate motors and controls would be too large. Unlike conventional telescopic systems, the slide has no rolling bearings or lubricants. Its anodised aluminium profiles and polymer-coated centre rail deliver low-friction, wearresistant dry operation, while a high-helix leadscrew ensures smooth, durable performance. There is a choice of stepper, DC or EC/BLDC motors. With the D1 motor control, users can configure and adjust parameters such as speed and acceleration via a LAN or WLAN. The 45mmwide IFS (Interface System) Profisafe gateway allows safe switching of the enable inputs and saves I/Os at the control level. It offers safe shutdown of starters through safe outputs. Other benefits include flexible expansion options, as well as fast configuration, condition monitoring, and diagnostics via automation software and Phoenix’s clipx tool.
