46 n NEW PRODUCTS November/December 2025 www.drivesncontrols.com B&R has upgraded its Acopos P3 servodrives giving them up to 60% more power, and eight times more computing power in the same frame size. This makes them makes among the most powerful on the market in terms of computing capabilities and power density. There are now seven models (up from two), including single- and doubleaxis variants from 32–80kW. The double-axis module offers twice the power density of previous versions, allowing cabinet footprints to be halved in some applications. The higher computational power improves responsiveness, resulting in 50μs cycle times for all position and speed loops. Intelligent functions can be executed on board the drive, which can operate independently and is not affected by network delays or PLC performance. This contributes to higher speed and productivity, improved product quality, and enhanced performance. A redesigned airflow system, along with coated PCBs, ensure robust performance, with dust and other particles being circulated away from critical components. Thermal monitoring via 17 built-in sensors, allows the drive to operate safely at its performance limits, and reduces the need for oversizing. The drive is aimed at OEMs in industries such as plastics, printing, paper, textiles and metals. B&R Industrial Automation 01733 371320 www.br-automation.com Leak detector incorporates 30 microphones Rockwell Automation has announced a microcontroller that, it says, will make it simpler, faster and more cost-effective to develop smart machines. The Allen-Bradley Micro820 L20E controllers are based on the existing LC20 platform, but offer additional capabilities that enhance program execution, I/O responses and communications, in the same compact footprint. The controllers simplify integration and speed up commissioning, thus helping machine-builders to improve productivity and get their machines to the market sooner. They offer Class 1 implicit messaging, supporting up to four nodes, resulting in more efficient comms, and enhancing real-time control and reliability. USB Type C ports streamline machine set-up and configuration, saving engineering time. The micro controllers are compatible with Rockwell’s Connected Components Workbench software (version 23) and its FactoryTalk Design Workbench software (version 1 or later), allowing users to leverage advanced functions in an intuitive programming environment. Rockwell Automation www.rockwellautomation.co.uk ifm has launched a handheld device for detecting leaks in compressed air and gas systems. The SDL100 instrument uses a MEMS technology that integrates 30 ultrasonic microphones that detect the faintest leak noises, even in environments with high background noise. Equipped with a laser distance measurement system and a builtin camera, the detector allows operators to visualise leaks on a 3.5-inch display, providing realtime identification of leak locations. It can pinpoint and document leaks as small as 0.1 litres per minute at 6 bar, at distances of up to 5m. After inputting tariff data, compressed air losses and their costs can be viewed. Critical data, including maintenance details, are recorded digitally and can be transferred for further analysis. Free reporting software allows compliance with ISO 50001. By cutting the time taken to identify and resolve leakages, the SDL100 helps to reduce system losses and operating costs. ifm electronic 0208 213 0000 www.ifm.com/gb/en Festo has announced a vacuum generator that fits on the end of robot arms to perform duties such as handling PCBs, loading and unloading machines, assembling packaging, and picking items from 3D printers. The OVEH EOAT (end-of-arm tooling) system has built-in sensors and precision valve controls, which can be managed via digital I/O or IO-Link. The compact, plugand-work device has a universal interface, that complies with ISO 9409-150-4-M6, and ensures compatibility with a variety of cobots and robots. It is available in high vacuum or high suction volume versions. The device can be configured with one suction cup, or up to nine on an adapter plate, offering a variety of gripping positions. This allows manufacturers to create customised grippers that can be retooled easily. The device’s low height and weight help to achieve a high dynamic response, making it suitable for applications that need speed and precision. A pressure sensor monitors vacuum levels continuously, helping to ensure precision and consistency. A valve-controlled ejector pulse enhances the handling of workpieces. Air quality is maintained using integral filters, while an open silencer reduces contamination of the suction nozzle. Festo 0800 626422 www.festo.co.uk Upgraded servodrives deliver up to 60% more power Delta Logic has revised its AutoSpy diagnostics and process analysis tool for PLC systems, and renamed it auto.spy analyzer. The free viewer version is now called auto.spy viewer. The new version (2025.1) records, analyses and visualises process data as a graph or table. A new cycleaccurate driver for Simatic S71200/1500s PLCs works with TIA Portal V17 and V20. Astrace documents can now be opened by drag-and-drop into the application window and be written and read much faster. www.deltalogic.de Microcontrollers promise faster, simpler machine set-ups Vacuum generator handles multiple tasks on robot arms
