47 www.drivesncontrols.com October 2025 NEW PRODUCTS n Emis has released a three-phase sinewave filter designed to improve power quality, protect connected equipment, and extend operating lifetimes of motors and other industrial systems. The TPQS3113 filter tackles harmonic distortion produced by drives that use high-speed IGBT transistors. The filter smooths PWM (pulse width modulated) signals into near-perfect sinewaves, offering dV/dt protection, reducing motor losses, and increasing load efficiencies. This results in longer motor lifespans, enhanced system reliability, and reduced downtime, according to Emis. The filters mitigate motor bearing currents, reduce insulation stresses, and reduce wear on motor cables. They ensure stable power delivery in harsh industrial environments with high ambient temperatures, vibrations, dust and heavy electrical loads. They can also reduce noise and harmonics. Typical applications include: drive systems with cable runs up to 2km long, HVAC fan and pump motors, robots and automation equipment, compressors, lifts and escalators. The 480V, 50Hz AC filters have current ratings from 2.3–1,000A. They have Class F insulation. The EB260 encoder eliminates signal errors caused by mounting, temperature, ageing and mechanical factors, thus enhancing precision and control quality. A built-in airgap monitor records the position of the magnetic rotor continuously, so even tiny changes caused by damage to a machine’s mechanics can be reported to a higher-level system. The encoder is said to be extremely robust thanks to its bearingless design and hermetically encapsulated electronics. Operation is wearfree, there is no self-heating, and the encoder is immune from shaft currents, strong shocks and shaft movements. No shaft or stator coupling is required, eliminating the need for complex sealing or a cover. The encoder can be installed easily into existing systems with flexible shaft diameters and mounting types. Its installation depth is just 11mm. Built-in IO-Link provides configuration flexibility. Typical applications include speed control for asynchronous motors, precise incremental positioning, motion monitoring, overspeed, direction and standstill along with airgap, temperature, and signal quality control. The iXX cameras combine the power of apps with high-performance thermography inspection tools, enabling scalable, intuitive, and connected condition monitoring. They can run Flir and third-party apps, including usercreated apps. Flir says that traditional thermal inspections are often complex, inconsistent, and disconnected. The new appdriven platform simplifies inspections, standardises data, and scales across teams and sites. It comes with everything needed to get started, including an onboarding app. The result is an easier learning curve for less experienced users looking to perform expert-level inspections and assess asset condition accurately. Integration with Flir’s Assetlink browser-based software allows users to plan inspections, connect thermal images to asset data, and produce inspection reports with the aim of simplifying workflows, improving asset health, and reducing reporting times. Trend visualisation provides insights on asset condition not possible with a single snapshot, while dashboard data visualisation simplifies communications and improves operator understanding of condition monitoring programs. The cameras offer resolutions up to 480 × 640. A patented technology embosses visible details onto thermal images to identify problems faster. The hardware includes an 8MP visual camera and a high-resolution touchscreen. The CNC HMI Base (TF5310) library offers a choice of control elements such as axis display, spindle and speed override, functions, a contour editor, plus a tool data and zero offset table. The TwinCAT 3 CNC HMI Simulation Server (TF2000) library integrates 3D simulation control into real-time data from TwinCAT CNC. The simulation runs either in sync with real machining (real-time simulation) or in fast forward. www.beckhoff.com Nidec Drives has upgraded its Connect PC commissioning tool, making drive set-ups faster, simpler, and more intuitive. Connect V3 offers: auto-discovery via Ethernet, serial or Bluetooth; guided set-ups with dropdown motor selection; real-time tuning with integrated scope and motion analysis tools; visual I/O configuration and dynamic logic diagramming; and seamless PLC integration and built-in self-diagnostics. Nidec Drives has also launched an online hub called Control Techniques | Connect | Quick and easy commissioning, offering documentation, tools, and resources needed to commission and optimise Connect V3. www.controltechniques.com maxon has upgraded its MiniMACS6-AMP4 multi-axis motion controller range with improved control precision for smaller DC and brushless DC motors. The new controller is optimised for motors up to 7A peak and 4A continuous, and achieves higher current resolution. It now includes a Profinet interface. The controller can handle up to six DC motors, four BLDC motors, or three stepper motors. The 4A (210W) model, increases control precision for designers of compact machines. The new release optimises control precision for motors at a lower current through improved resolution across a smaller measured range. Lower current also reduces noise. www.maxongroup.co.uk
