Euro-Bearings has launched an online calculator for choosing the correct size of combined roller bearings. Designed to streamline the engineering process, the calculator uses Hertzian pressure to determine the minimum required bearing size when used with Euro-Bearings’ steel profiles. It provides links to recommended product sets, including bearings, profiled rails, mounting plates, and flange clamps. The tool supports simple horizontal applications, as well as vertical (mast) applications and horizontal cantilevered applications. https://euro-bearings.com/euro-bearings-calculator Configurator speeds ordering of bearings, guides and rod ends Rollon has added a configurator to its myRollon portal, joining the existing selection tool and product centre. The new tool allows users to fast-track quotation requests, and streamline ordering of company’s spherical plain bearings, telescopic guides and rod ends. They can obtain product codes by entering technical information such as product type and size. The tool also facilitates post-installation support by enabling easy retrieval of product details for spare parts orders. Load capacities have been updated, reflecting the latest engineering insights and aligning with real-world performance data. myRollon now includes a new navigation menu, offering an overview of all product families, and breadcrumb navigation. https://my.rollon.com Online gear shop gets a revamp, making it easier to use RA Rodriguez has redesigned its online gear shop, with ease-of-use in mind. The site, launched in 2016, allows visitors to find and buy gears from the Japanese manufacturer, KHK, quickly and easily. There are more than 30,000 gears to choose from, including bevel gears, mitre gears, racks and pinions, screw gears, spur gears, and worms and wheels. Users can download technical data and 3D CAD drawings from each product page. There is also a strength calculation tool. www.rargears.com Brochure aims to promote careers in the UK pump industry The British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) has produced a brochure aimed at inspiring interest in careers in the pump industry. Called Pumps: A World of Opportunity, the publication showcases the role pumps play in multiple sectors, as well as highlighting the diverse career opportunities in the sector. The brochure offers insights into roles ranging from engineering and design, to sales, marketing, and sustainabilityfocused careers. A digital version of the brochure can be viewed via the BPMA Web site. www.bpma.org.uk 62 n NEW PRODUCTS n DESIGN DATA AND MULTIMEDIA July/August 2025 www.drivesncontrols.com Bühler has expanded its bMotion modular drive platform to include 40mm and 51mm motor sizes, in addition to the existing 63mm. The platform, available in the UK from Electro Mechanical Systems (EMS), offers a range of motors, gearheads, encoders, brakes and controllers that can be mixed and matched to suit an application. The two new motor sizes will give users more choice, enabling them to better tailor drive systems, achieve greater performance-to-cost ratios and shorten project timelines. www.ems-limited.co.uk Tool eases selection of combined roller bearings Yaskawa has launched a pair of product families designed to enhance the safety capabilities of its Σ-X (sigma ten) AC servodrives. They are a series of Advanced Safety Modules (ASM-X) that mount on the side of Yaskawa’s Servopack servo amplifiers, and a family of servomotors with built-in functional safety. The products comply with various functional safety requirements, including EU machinery directives. By combining the motors with the safety modules it is possible to build safety systems that comply with the directives. And by building systems with safety fieldbuses, the amount of wiring needed can be reduced. The ASM-X safety modules include functions to monitor motor position, speed, and acceleration. When combined with the servomotors with functional safety, they can be used to build SIL 3 or PL e (Category 3) compliant safety systems. The modules support 11 types of safety function based on the EN 61800-5-2 standards. Up to 10 of the functions can run simultaneously. There are three types of safety module and three new servomotor models with functional safety, aimed at different combinations of inertia, torque and speed. One of the modules supports digital I/O signals, the second supports EtherCat, and the third combines the first two. The portfolio covers a variety of codings, connection types, materials and fastening technologies. The connectors are designed to be used wherever signals, data or power need to be integrated safely into a device or housing. They can be used in control cabinets, sensors or drives, or in railway or building applications. The panel-mount connectors can also be used in robots – on joints for connecting sensors, for example – in AGVs, conveyor systems and logistics systems. A-coded variants are suitable for CANbus and IO-Link applications, while B-coded variants are used for Profibus. D- and X-coded panel mounts have been developed for industrial Ethernet protocols such as Profinet. K- and S-coded variants are aimed at AC applications up to 630V AC, while L- and T-coded versions are suitable for DC applications up to 63V.
