The modular design of the TPC-B300 and TPC-B520 PCs allows users to pair screens from 12–23.8", with a choice of CPUs and I/Os, creating more than 30 possible combinations tailored to specific applications. Advantech adds that the modular approach will also: n speed up product development; n allow it to offer the latest CPUs, thus extending product lifecycles; n simplify maintenance and upgrades; and n lead to faster deliveries. By combining flexibility, durability and advanced functions, it believes the PCs are “set to revolutionise HMIs”, paving the way for smarter, more efficient manufacturing processes. The panel PCs have a fanless design and will operate from –20 to +60°C. They offer a choice of operating systems, including Windows 10/11 LTSC and Advantech Linux. The IP66protected multitouch displays include high-brightness options. Advantech is planning more screen sizes. Mounting options include panel, wall, stand and Vesa. The TPC-B520 models provide higher computing performance, while the compact TPC-B300 versions provide basic I/O and a power-efficient design. The TPC-B520 PCs are powered by 13th-gen Intel Core processors with DDR5 memory slots supporting up to 32GB. I/Os include 2 x USB 3.2, 2 x USB 2.0, 2 x RS-232/422/485, as well as a DisplayPort interface and a Type-C interface for an extra monitor. 5G and Wi-Fi modules support highspeed data transmission. The TPC-B300 variants are equipped with Atom or Celeron processors with up to 32GB of DDR5 memory. They have 3 x USB 3.2, 1 x USB 2.0, 2 x RS-232/422/485 ports, as well as DisplayPort connectors. www.advantech.com/en-eu ‘Revolutionary’ panel PCs offer 30+ combos FESTO IS OFFERING what it describes as the first proportional valve terminal, delivering precision, fast response times and dynamic control. The VTEP terminal provides extremely sensitive pressure control – down to less than 1 millibar – and its use of precision piezo valves can halve compressed air consumption. The terminal is said to speed up production and improve the quality of manufactured goods. At less than 120mm wide, it is the smallest proportional terminal for pressure control, with 10 working channels. It is available in 2-, 3- or 5way versions, which can be integrated for multi-channel applications. Pressure and vacuum can be combined in a 6-bar control range. The VTEP’s piezo technology results in quiet, wear-free operation with no particle abrasion or heat generation. The terminal is also free of copper, nickel and zinc, making it suitable for sensitive applications. It communicates almost in real time, with the valves reacting extremely rapidly to improve process reliability. The VTEP terminals can also be used as pilot valves for media valves. www.festo.com/gb/en First proportional valve terminal opens up new applications
