n TECHNOLOGY Installation tester can halve report times and make testing 30% faster FLUKE HAS LAUNCHED an installation tester which, it claims, can halve the time that maintenance technicians and electricians spend producing reports. The 1670 Series Multifunction Installation Tester also allows tests to be carried out up to 30% faster. The tester come in three models – for industrial, commercial and residential applications. A programmable AutoTest function allows users to run entire automatic installation test sequences at the touch of a button. Results will no longer need to be recorded during testing and then entered manually into a computer – a practice that is prone to errors and delays. A wireless Bluetooth connection links test results to the circuit or point under test. Electricians will also save time by not having to return to a site because they have not taken key measurements or the results are incorrect. The tester shows onsite if any tests have been missed. Automatic measurement validation compares test results to a built-in standards reference, delivering an immediate visual pass/fail indication on a colour touchscreen. The display includes a keyboard so there is no need for extra devices or laptops to enter notes or edit details. Field measurement data and metadata are stored, managed and shared rapidly using Fluke’s Connect software, while the company’s TruTest software simplifies the process of generating documents. Inspection reports can be previewed in the field with a one click, and certificates and inspection invoices generated on-site. “Electricians can spend a minimum of 25% of their time processing data and creating reports,” says Jit Patel, Fluke’s product manager for installation testers. “The Fluke 1670 Series Multifunction Installation Tester simply takes this headache away. As a best-in-class electrical installation inspection solution, this device represents a genuine evolution in documenting. “Because it simplifies inspection results and reporting, boosts productivity and increases testing accuracy,” he adds, “we expect the Fluke 1670 Series to become the most important tool in an electrician’s toolbelt.” https://drivesncontrols.news/u1ft9lif Fluke predicts that its time-saving tester will become “the most important tool in an electrician’s toolbelt”.
