n TECHNOLOGY MICROSOFT AND NVIDIA are collaborating to offer “hundreds of millions” of Microsoft enterprise users access to the industrial metaverse and to AI supercomputing resources via the cloud. Microsoft’s Azure cloud will host two new Nvidia services: n Nvidia Omniverse Cloud – a platform-as-a-service giving instant access to an environment for designing, developing, deploying and managing industrial metaverse applications; and n Nvidia DGX Cloud – an AI supercomputing service that gives access to the infrastructure and software needed to train advanced models for generative AI and other applications. The two companies are also linking their productivity and 3D collaboration platforms by connecting Microsoft 365 applications — such as Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint — with Nvidia’s Omniverse platform for building and operating 3D industrial metaverse applications. They say their collaboration will accelerate enterprises’ ability to digitalise their operations, engage in the industrial metaverse, and train advanced models for generative AI and other uses. “The world’s largest companies are racing to digitalise every aspect of their business and re-invent themselves as softwaredefined technology companies,” says Nvidia’s founder and CEO, Jensen Huang. “Nvidia AI and Omniverse supercharge industrial digitalisation.
