48 n EDS PREVIEW September 2022 www.drivesncontrols.com Join the EDS tenth anniversary party T he Engineering Design Show (EDS) returns to the Coventry Building Society Arena for two days next month, marking its tenth anniversary. EDS promises two days of innovation, celebrations, partnerships and excellence for the engineering design community. With more than 200 exhibitors, and more than 30 hours of free conference sessions and workshops, the show aims to support UK design engineers. More than 80% of the available stand space has already been booked. To celebrate the show’s first 10 years, the organisers are throwing a party. At the end of the first day, all visitors and exhibitors will be invited to raise a glass and celebrate everything to do with engineering design. “There is no better opportunity in the UK for design engineers to network with their peers,” says EDS sales director, Simon Bonell. “We are the only show dedicated to engineering, electronics and embedded design and we have continued to bring together the best suppliers, speakers and products to the Coventry Building Society venue for the past 10 years. We are inviting all visitors to come along to our 10-year anniversary party to celebrate this. “We also have a stellar line-up of speakers and exhibitors for EDS 2022,” he adds. “Over the course of two very interesting and information-packed days, speakers from across the industry will explore some of the key design engineering trends, technologies and projects that are transforming the wider world. We’re certain they will provide some inspiring examples of how engineers are driving the development of cleaner forms of energy generation, sustainable mobility solutions, innovative manufacturing systems and much more.” Across the show’s two days, the organisers say that it will deliver the contacts, connections and content that design engineers in the UK need to succeed. The exhibitors span a wide range of technologies and capabilities including drives and controls, embedded systems, motion controls, 3D printing, labelling, PCB manufacturing and assembly and more. There will be three conference theatres running in parallel across both days of the show. Visitors to EDS 2022 will also be able to view the winning designs in the Efficiency for Access Design scheme – a global, multi- disciplinary competition which challenges teams of university students to come up with ideas to help accelerate access to clean energy. The winning designs offer new approaches to developing off-grid appliances. n Next month the Engineering Design Show will be celebrating its tenth anniversary when it returns to its Coventry venue.
