Drives & Controls April 2022

64 n NEW PRODUCTS April 2022 www.drivesncontrols.com Teledyne Flir is offering a pair of thermal cameras come that come in three versions – smart, image-streaming and r&d – for applications ranging from manufacturing to science. The IP66-protected A50 (464 × 348 resolution) and A70 (640 × 480) cameras offer temperature measurement accuracies of ±2°C or ±2%, as well as high-resolution options. The smart versions of the cameras can be used for condition monitoring to reduce inspection times, improve production efficiency, and increase product reliability. An“on camera/on edge”function allows temperatures to be measured and analysed in the camera, without needing a PC. With Rest API, MQTT and Modbus master functions, they are said to be easy to add, configure and operate in HMI/Scada systems. The image-streaming versions are aimed at process and quality control applications. With GigE Vision and GenICam compatibility, the cameras can be plugged into PCs. They can complement machine vision systems that look for defects such as incorrect sizes, with the thermal cameras providing data on temperature variances. Teledyne Flir www.teledyneflir.com Fanuc has announced a series of three collaborative robots (cobots) that complement its existing CR and CRX cobots and expand its portfolio to 11 variants with handling capacities from 4-35kg – claimed to be widest cobot line-up on the market. The new CRX-5iA, CRX- 20iA/L and CRX-25iA cobots offer payloads of 5, 20 and 25kg and maximum reaches of 994, 1,418 and 1,889mm. Fanuc says they should not need maintenance for up to eight years. The cobots offer IP67 (dustproof and waterproof) protection and can be used in the harsh environments. They can detect external forces, stopping safely when making contact with a person or object. Interactive programming allows users to teach points using hand guidance or a tablet interface with drag- and-drop icons. The cobots can be used with standard 100V/240V power supplies, and include energy-saving functions resulting in a power consumption of about 400Wwhen moving a 25kg payload. The CRX-20iA/L cobot will start shipping in April, with the other two models following in June. Fanuc Europe 00 352 72 77770 www.fanuc.eu Rockwell Automation has released a range of analogue safety I/O modules that provide device monitoring and functional safety protection for process applications. The Allen- Bradley Flex 5000 modules can help operators meet failsafe requirements and minimise downtime. The modules are TÜV-certified to SIL 3 / PLe / Cat 4. They can be mounted in the same I/O bank with standard Flex 5000 I/O modules to cut system costs and complexity. The modules are suitable for applications that require speed or frequency measurements, and temperature, pressure or flow sensor monitoring for functional safety protection. The I/O can reduce downtime by providing easier access to additional process diagnostics via Hart communications in Rockwell’s Studio 5000 Logix Designer application. They can reduce footprints by allowing direct termination of field signals, and they can ease engineering by integration with PlantPAx 5.0. Rockwell Automation www.rockwellautomation.co.uk Foremost Electronics is offering a range of cable entry plates that will route and seal any combination of pre-terminated cables, conduits or pneumatic hoses. The Icotec KEL-FA system needs no tools for assembly – once the entry frame is populated with grommets and cables, a cover is added and two clamping levers are locked with the lower part by pressing them down. The system’s twist-proof construction enables intuitive assembly, routing and sealing to IP54 for cables with diameters from 1–35 mm. The frames match the cut-out dimensions for 10-, 16- and 24-pin industrial connectors and can be screw- mounted or snapped into a Kel- Snap frame. The split multi-cable entry frames offer integrated sealing, high cable densities with multi-hole grommets, high strain relief, and flexibility with a variety of grommet options. Retrofits, repairs and maintenance can be done easily and quickly and, because connectors do not have to be removed for assembly, warranties on pre-terminated cables are not affected. They are available as 2-19 pin variants and offer IP67 protection when mated. The short, shieldable cable plugs and sockets are available in solder or crimp versions. They are designed for wire gauges from 0.14- 1.0mm 2 . Voltage ratings are 32- 250V and current ratings from 3-7A. Cable outlets range from 4.1- 7.8mm. Applications include automation and testing. www.binder-connector.de
