63 www.drivesncontrols.com April 2022 NEW PRODUCTS n Phoenix Contact is offering a range of over-voltage protection modules which, it says, are the narrowest available, with widths from 3.5mm per protective device. The Termitrab devices can protect individual signal wires, or up to four conductors. Remote signalling modules for monitoring up to 40 neighbouring protective devices are available. Disconnect knives are available as options in some versions. Separately available fuseholders can protect vulnerable signal lines against over- currents. Protective devices for data and telecommunications applications are available in the same width. www.phoenixcontact.co.uk Omron has issued version 1.1 of its Fleet OperationsWorkspace (Flow) Core software that speeds up the introduction of mobile robots by running data analyses, simulation functions and integrated control of multiple types of robot. The software clarifies any issues before the robots have been installed, while a fleet simulation functionmakes start-ups quick. It also allows integrated control of multiple types of mobile robots with different payloads, eliminating the complexity of building a system for each type. After the system is installed, it is easy to collect data and identify bottlenecks. http://industrial.omron.eu/ mobilerobots Stober has released a module capable of powering multiple servodrive axes, thus eliminating the need for to connect several supply modules in parallel. The PS6A44 module, which has a nominal current of 95A and can power axes with combined ratings of 50kW, saves cabinet space, reduces cabling and speeds up installation and commissioning. For processes with high starting torques and dynamic ramps, 150% overloads are possible for 5s, or 120% for 30s. The module can be used with Stober’s 45mm-wide SI6 drive controllers which can control two axes. By linking several controllers, the number of axes can be increased. The SI6 is available with output currents of up to 50A and can control EZ synchronous servomotors in conjunction with the new power supply. Stober’s One-Cable Solution (OCS) technology can connect the motor and controller over distances of up to 100m using a hybrid cable that transmits power and encoder data simultaneously. The switches ensure that equipment can be operated only when all covers are closed. Should a cover be opened during operation, the switch will shut down the system automatically and safely. Available in magnetically or RFID coded variants, the IP67- protected switches can be retrofitted to existing machinery. With an actuator located on the moving part and a read head on the fixed part, no contact is needed for successful operation. The magnetically coded switches work over long distances with tolerances that can accommodate adverse conditions, such as vibration. Because activation occurs only with the right actuator, the system can protect against manipulation. The RFID version allows up to 31 sensors to be added in a series, so several doors can be monitored at once. Where covers need to be monitored independently of a series, individual coding during installation can assign each actuator to its own safety switch. The DataMan 280 readers combine high-resolution sensors with dynamic image-formation systems to improve code handling and coverage. They incorporate patent-pending algorithms and are said to decode the most difficult-to- read codes at high speeds and with high accuracy. Combined with Cognex Edge Intelligence (EI), the readers provide advanced functions such as Web browser connections, device management, performance monitoring and fast image offloads. Users can configure multiple devices at the same time and begin trending system performance within minutes. The modular hardware includes field-interchangeable lights and lenses. The readers can be configured straight, or at right-angles for tight spaces. For applications needing wider fields-of-view and multi-side scanning at high speeds, multiple readers can be used together. The low-cost LCU-40APW is a self-contained 42mm-diameter IS (intrinsically safe) position sensor with an operating range of 100mm to 1m. It has analogue and pulse width outputs – allowing use for either fixed, factory-calibrated 250mV per inch measurements (analogue) or with time-of-flight measurements to determine distance (pulse width). The RPS-409A-IS3 is an IS 30mm-diameter position sensor for measurements from 100mm to 5.5m in four ranges, where its 0- 10V DC output is a fixed analogue volts-per-inch value based on its maximum range. The sensor is certified for use in hazardous gas or dust environments (Class I, II or III) when used with approved IS barriers.
