46 n NEW PRODUCTS June 2021 www.drivesncontrols.com Werma has released a wireless system that allows shopfloor workers to report problems or request materials at the push of a button, instead of having to shout or leave their workstation. The ready-to-use Andon WirelessSet system needs no wiring, avoiding the need for an electrician. An installation consists of a Werma signal tower and power supply, a transceiver, a two- or five-button box, a USB cable and supply, and configuration software. Single or multiple boxes can control one or more signal towers. The pushbuttons can be configured to mirror the colours of the tower. The configuration software can set control and visualisation options, and adapt the installation to local conditions. Acknowledgements can be sent from other boxes. For example, an operator can report a material shortage which a logistics specialist acknowledges via their box. The boxes can communicate with each other allowing, for instance, a forklift driver to press a button on a battery-powered version of the box to report or acknowledge their status to other boxes in the system, without needing a signal tower. Werma (UK) 01536 486930 www.werma.co.uk Fluke has launched a family of non-contact AC/DC clampmeters that, it claims, are the first to allow accurate non-contact voltage measurements without test leads. Electrical tests can be made rapidly without touching live parts. The 377 and 378 meters use Fluke’s FieldSense technology to sense voltage and current via the clamp jaw, with only a connection to earth needed for reference. There is no contact with live components, minimising the risk of shocks and arc flashes. The meters measure up to 1kA true-rms AC/DC and up to 2.5kA AC. Only three steps are needed to measure in three-phase systems, with voltages and currents shown simultaneously on the dual display. The 377 FC and 378 FC versions have built-in Bluetooth and display phase rotation, which can be viewed on a smartphone and saved to the cloud, eliminating the need for handwritten notes. The 378 FC also has a power quality indicator that senses issues relating to current, voltage or power factor. When connected to a safety module, the MC88C sensors meet the requirements of PLe / Cat 4, in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1, for stopping or disconnecting dangerous machine movements. The IP67-protected sensors are particularly suitable for applications where dust and dirt could influence the sensing distance, and are available with left or right exits, integrated cables, M8 or pigtails with M12 connectors, and optional LED indicators. They offer a choice of NO and NC outputs, and it is possible to change the switching distance between 5, 8 and 18mm. An assured switching distance of 5mm, and an assured switch-off distance of 15mm can also be achieved. Carlo Gavazzi Automation 01276 854110 www.carlogavazzi.co.uk Binder has added shielded, two-part, right-angle housing versions to its 423, 713, 715 and 825 Series of M12 and M16 circular cable connectors, widening their potential applications, particularly in areas such as sensor technology, actuators, data transmission and supplying power. The space-saving right-angle design has an improved sealing concept, and is easier to install, particularly in tight spaces. Binder expects to see an increase in use for applications such as a control systems andmeasuring equipment. www.binder-connector.de Universal Robots has launched a new version of its UR10e cobot (collaborative robot) with an increased payload of 12.5kg, allowing it to handle heavier items andmore applications, while improving productivity. The enhanced UR10e has the same footprint, programming and repeatability, but can be usedwith a 2.5kg gripper in palletising applications with 10kg cartons. It can also load and unload heavier workpieces inmachine-tending and packaging applications. The cobot’s price is unchanged. www.universal-robots.com/ products/ur10-robot AuComElectronics , the soft-starter andmotor controls supplier which merged last year with the US soft- starter specialist Benshaw , is targeting newmarkets with a range of compact medium-voltage frequency converters built in Germany. It claims that the “competitively priced”converters, based on amulti-level technology, are up to 40% smaller than rivals, thus cutting costs.Thomas Zirk, managing director of AuComEMEA, says that the range offers“the smallest dimensions of its kind”. www.aucom.com ElectroMechanical Systems (EMS) is offering a pair of miniature, high-power motion controllers – the Faulhaber MC3001B andMC3001P – for control and positioning tasks. The unhoused 2.6mm-high controllers can deliver up to 1.4A continuous and 5A peak. They can control Faulhaber DCmicromotors, linear DC servomotors and brushless DC motors with diameters of 6–30mm. High PWMoperating frequencies minimise torque ripple and prevent overheating.Thermal protection for motors is also provided. The controllers can receive signals fromamaster to work in synchrony. www.ems-limited.co.uk Siemens is adding three servomotors to its Sinamics S210 single-cable servodrive system, expanding its applications. The IP67/IP69-protected Simotics S-1FS2 motors with stainless-steel housings, offer 22-bit absolute multiturn encoders and are aimed at pharmaceutical, food and beverage uses. The Simotics S-1FK2 servo planetary gearmotors promise optimum adjustment of speed, torque and mass inertia. They are aimed at applications where high cycle rates need to be achieved with a lightweight, low-inertia gear designs, or when inertia matching is needed to move heavy loads precisely. The Simotics S-1FT2 servomotors offer IP67 protection, 26-bit encoders, high speeds and coatings for harsh environments. www.siemens.com/sinamics-s210 Safety magnetic sensors offer long switching distances
