New ultrasonic proximity sensors and fibre optical sensors complement existing photoelectric proximity sensors (through-beam, retro-reflective and diffuse), inductive proximity sensors and capacitive proximity sensors. The sensors can detect a wide range of materials including metals, plastics, paper, liquids, powders and particles. They can be incorporated into quality and verification systems – for example, to count, detect the presence or absence of objects, or to measure parameters such as pressure, flow and viscosity. The range also includes load cells, rotary encoders, thermocouples, switches and cables, as well as accessories such as mounting brackets and test switches. The DM 0138 drummotor offers good acceleration and braking performance with low energy consumption and the ability to position conveyed goods precisely without needing extra sensors, simplifying the integration of packaging and other processing machines into automated flows. The 138mm- diameter motor has an output that previously could only be achieved using 165mm-diameter asynchronous motors. The motor is optionally available in an oil-free version. It helps designers to select the right guide for an application and includes filters such as“lifetime”and “static safety”. Users do not have to commit to a product group from the start and can see all available options. They start with a general description of the task, with the movement divided into load phases – constant load and identical direction of movement. They then enter forces and to assign them to the load phases. The results are listed in a table which can be filtered by guide type, configuration, kinematics, lifetime, and static safety. For example, previously design data has been available only in the Step and JT formats. A new MultiCAD download function can now provide 2D and 3D CAD data for more than 13,000 items in more than 50 formats. And while documents previously had to be downloaded individually, a new data manager allows up to 50 documents to be obtained in one step.
