Camp Energy Our next step on the journey to the summit brought us to Camp Energy. This was an important stage during our climb to the summit as it takes physical and mental energy to succeed - not just from one person, but from an entire team. During this session we heard from the inspirational speaker, Mandy Hickson, a former Royal Air Force Pilot, entrepreneur and author, Sandy Arbuthnott, Programme Director, Operations Strategy at Meggitt, and Alan Newby, Director, Aerospace Technology and Future Programmes at Rolls-Royce. Camp Energy looked at the energy required to become the best, from the importance of leadership, collaborative teamwork and nurturing the right skills within an organisation, to embedding resilient supply chains and adopting new technologies. For this event we propelled, full force into a world of fighter jets and the military. Camp Oxy-gen After immersing ourselves in the world of motorsport and jet engines, our third stop on the journey will see us arrive at Camp Oxy- gen, which takes place on Thursday 4th March 2021. Join us at this critical stage in our journey as we look at how we can optimise our resources, even in the most difficult circumstances. How does business become ‘fit for purpose’– reshoring and supply chains, putting our stake in the ground. During this Camp, you’ll have an opportunity to hear from Sir Ranulph Fiennes, ‘TheWorld’s Great Living Explorer’, David Atkinson, Regional Director for the SME & Mid Corporates Commercial Banking division, Lloyds Banking Group, and. Jan Godsell, Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Strategy at WMG, University of Warwick. Industrial Transformation Conference Our final stop before the summit will see us arrive at the Industrial Transformation Conference (ITC) on Monday 15th March. In sight of the summit and spurred on by inspirational ‘doers’, we will tackle the challenges that need to be overcome in order to radically change the way that UK manufacturing operates. Throughout the ITC, teamworking will be encouraged through facilitated workshops to discuss some of the critical industrial challenges within the Space, Infrastructure and Agri-food manufacturing sectors. There will also be an opportunity to hear from leading experts from the UK manufacturing sector and catapult network, on key technologies and approaches that will help drive our transformation.
