BFPA 2025 Yearbook & Members' Directory 2025

Education and Training The BFPA is passionate about raising standards within the fluid power industry, and we have utilised the knowledge of industry experts to develop a Learning and Development Programme aimed at all sections of industry, from construction, marine, agriculture and offshore to renewable energy, rail, and mining, plus many other industries where hydraulics and pneumatics are incorporated. We are confident that the mix of short training courses and hydraulic and pneumatic qualifications that fall under the BFPA Learning and Development Programme will be relevant for both employers and employees. Each learning option is designed to increase and improve safety for those who work with hydraulic and pneumatic hoses and systems at all levels, from the system designer and field engineer to the machine operator and the person who makes hose assemblies. All BFPA courses and qualifications are available throughout the year and can be accessed directly from the BFPA or through our national network of approved training providers. Delegates attending BFPA courses and qualifications receive a copy of the course reference manual, a certificate and an individual personalised BFPA training card. The training provision offered by the BFPA has, for many years, continued to grow in importance as more and more companies realise the value and necessity of well-trained employees. The development of a sound well-functioning workforce that is skilled in its job roles and above all safe in the working practices it adopts are of the greatest benefit to a company in a highly competitive industry. 2024 saw a major increase in the number of BFPA-certified courses delivered by both the association directly and its approved training providers, with more than 2,500 delegates trained. Companies’ positive attitude towards upskilling their workforce demonstrates a strong commitment to safe working practices, which can only benefit the reputation of the fluid power industry. Within the BFPA Learning and Development Programme, we currently offer the Association’s well-established flexible hose training courses and the growing fluid power systems vocational courses and qualifications. The aim is to encourage individuals to learn and positively develop what they can offer in their working lives.
