Pirtek’s work with the BFPA has been critical in its quest to further educate the market in terms of improved hose awareness and has become an authorised training provider of three of the BFPA’s hose training schemes both internally and externally; the Foundation Course in Working Safely with Hydraulic Hose and Connectors, The BFPA Hose Assembly Skills Training Programme, and BFPA minimum recommendation for hydraulics. It is mandatory for Pirtek technicians to attend the Foundation Course as a part of their induction programme where they also cover City & Guilds modules as laid out in 2340-53; this is largely because there are valuable elements within the course that focus on good health & safety practice. The Training centre focuses on determining each employee’s individual training needs; whether they are Pirtek employees, Pirtek customers or none Pirtek customers. Over a number of years many Pirtek customers have utilised the Training services with either on - site training or training based at the National Training Centre, delivering courses such as, Foundation course in hydraulic systems, hose and fitting identification, hose assembly skills and, most popular of all, Hydraulic safety awareness specifically around hydraulic hoses. Pirtek are extremely proud of the courses they are able to offer and as the requirements for training continue to grow, the Pirtek Training Centre intends to grow with it!
