In the UK alone, 14 colleges have already adopted the ALLDATA package as part of their curriculum. By integrating ALLDATA Repair into daily learning, students can explore all aspects of vehicle repair from diagnostics to mechanical and collision work all powered by original OEM repair information data from 42 vehicle manufacturers. ALLDATA Europe has developed a tailored education package that fits effortlessly into existing vocational programmes. Dave Reece, director at School of Thought Automotive, said: “We’re proud to work with partners, like ALLDATA, who share our mission to connect automotive with education and to show young people that this industry offers a future that’s technical, exciting, and full of opportunity.” Valeo hosts tech students MAHLE has launched a worldwide expansion of its training courses, including an improved training portal. The company has inaugurated a global training centre (pictured) in Stuttgart, Germany, to mark the start of the training boost. The facility has over 1,300 m2 of training space, five fully equipped workshop workstations and offers enough space to train up to 15 partners simultaneously under practical conditions. MAHLE will use the Stuttgart model to set up new training centres in other countries. Philipp Grosse Kleimann, MAHLE management committee member and head of MAHLE Lifecycle and Mobility, said: “We see ourselves as a supplier of spare parts and workshop equipment, but also as a strong partner for the workshops with a comprehensive package of solutions that combines consulting, service and training.” The multi-lingual training portal (via www.training.mahle. com) offers technicians and wholesale partners free, live online training courses, in which qualified trainers are directly available for questions and exchange, or short e-learning courses. Valeo is supporting the next generation of auto tech professionals with training in the Midlands. Valeo Service UK welcomed students from Wolverhampton College to its headquarters in Redditch — celebrating their success in the college’s Technicians Trophy event. The competition brought together teams from several colleges and featured a range of challenges including workshop-based practical tasks and health and safety exercises. Valeo hosted two training sessions covering an introduction to high voltage vehicles, essential health and safety protocols alongside key system components. Students gained hands-on experience using multimeters and oscilloscopes. There was also an indepth look at dual clutch transmissions (DCT), with students involved in replacing a dual dry clutch on a Kia/Hyundai 7-Speed DCT, followed by actuator calibration and electrical circuitry testing. Stewart Lynch, technical trainer, said: “It’s one thing to learn theory at college, but working on the parts with tools really brings their skills to life.” The students were later presented with multimeters to support their ongoing studies and all received Valeo toolkits.
