Garage visit 50 www.aftermarketonline.net SEPTEMBER 2025 Louise Baker has had a passion for cars from an early age and the small business she has worked tirelessly to make a success of over nearly a decade is testament to her enthusiasm and perseverance. Her business, ‘Womanic’, will mark its 10th anniversary next year — not bad for a single mom who, as well as building a loyal customer base, has found time to make her mark as a popular influencer. Louise’s business model is simple: offer servicing, MOTs and general repairs at unbelievable prices, thanks to low overheads by operating from the two-unit workshop at the back of the family home in which she grew up, in Tyseley, Birmingham. She has expanded the workshop over the years with help from her father, but the business recently underwent a major makeover, thanks to the involvement of automotive giant Schaeffler. Schaeffler spear headed a project to modernise the Womanic workshop and Louise is now the proud owner of a shiny new workplace, after a full refurbishment carried out as part of Schaeffler’s REPXPERT Millionaire Makeover campaign. The makeover was carried out by GDS Engineering, which normally creates seamless walling systems, pit workshops and hospitality areas for the likes of Haas and Williams in the motorsport industry, whilst the storage solutions were supplied by Dura, the renowned workshop specialist. Other supporters behind the project included Ring, OSRAM, Shell, LKQ ECP and Louise drives ahead after a ‘Millionaire Makeover’ How ‘Womanic’ has been transformed into a workshop that befits its owner’s skills — with a little help from Schaeffler A cut above the rest: Louise starts a stylish new workshop era
