Sustain to gain 36 www.aftermarketonline.net JUNE 2025 As tougher environmental rules are ushered in, a team of garage sector veterans are using their expertise to help give workshops a sustainable business boost Asignificant shift is underway in carbon neutrality certification as PAS 2060 gives way to the more comprehensive ISO 140681 standard – a consistent international framework for carbon neutrality verification. Motornomic, an innovative startup founded by a team of industry veterans with over 11 years of experience growing repair and service, maintenance and repair (SMR) garages, has launched a streamlined solution to help repair businesses navigate this transition effectively. The new offering is delivered in collaboration with CBAM-UK — a leading independent advisory and compliance consultancy focused on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). The founding team of Motornomic includes Roky and Reaz Mojumder, who are drawing on the highs and lows of building garage operations under QCD Holdings — a group of automotive ventures including QCD Revive, a collision repair specialist, and QCD Autocentre Brackley, which focuses on the SMR sector — to help support other repair businesses. The team includes specialisms in digital, design and sustainability, with the other half of the founding team made up by Leigh Tymms and Gary Jones, who have extensive experience working on various corporate, OEM and fleet programmes. Motornomic is an AIintegrated platform offering advice and support on ways of working to drive business improvement and generate incremental revenue. The team, based near Milton Keynes with national coverage, aim to revolutionise the way independent garages can thrive in today’s market. They offer digital tools and resources that support not only sustainability but also many aspects of garage operations. Tymms, Motornomic’s chief operating officer, told Aftermarket: “Taking sustainability seriously can make a significant difference in the ability to secure fleet and insurance contracts. “However, we recognise that to benefit from such opportunities can represent an investment of both time and capital.” The team said it is this combination of a garagecentric approach and “a heady mix of digital specialism” that marks just the first step toward a set of more digitised solutions, which are set to launch later this year.
