Automechanika 46 www.aftermarketonline.net NOVEMBER 2024 Show business Automechanika Frankfurt offers global opportunities worth more than £358bn and this year’s outing of the biennial trade event was as popular as ever Frankfurt was once again the business hub of the global aftermarket sector in September, with more than 4,000 companies from 80 countries presenting products and solutions for retail, workshops and industry. Over an area of 320,000 square metres and 26 hall levels, trade visitors from 172 countries were able to discover pioneering technologies and even try some of them out in the outdoor exhibition area. This year’s trends were electrification, vehicle connectivity, driver assistance systems and digitalisation. Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt said: “Even in the midst of the digital transformation, the industry once again demonstrated its wealth of innovation, providing countless highlights over the course of the five-day event.” This report includes just a snapshot of companies that took part this year. BM Catalysts, European producer of aftermarket hot end emissions products, showcased its latest innovations, including the expansion of its Gasoline Particulate Filter range, reinforcing its commitment to meeting the evolving demands of the emissions control market. DENSO senior manager quality, service & remanufacturing, Jeroen Bleeker, said as well as hosting its customers, showcasing its 75-year history and projecting its plans for the future, the company’s stand gave its leaders the backdrop to set out the aftermarket division’s vision of the future, with a series of interviews brought together in a new DENSO video. “For DENSO, the primary focus was to highlight the quality that runs through its DNA and is embedded into all the processes that it undertakes from design to manufacturing, in order to deliver the very best in the performance and reliability of DENSO’s replacement parts, Bleeker said. Pan European strategic marketing manager, Fatiha Laauich, said the show “gave us a great platform to showcase not only our products and system solutions, but also our sustainability agenda”. GSF Car Parts said its top team was in high demand at the event. Led by executive chairman Sukhpal Ahluwalia and CEO Steve Horne, with new CCO Dev Satpathy, the purchasing team and heads of category, as well as digital sales director Robbie Stevens. Horne said: “We’ve had some exceptional offers of support from a full range of manufacturers and brands eager to maximise their UK sales. “Our promise to aggressively grow business within the UK aftermarket, which we’re already delivering on, has made everyone sit up and take notice, we’re being welcomed by suppliers with open arms.” Nissens Group said its Nissens Automotive, AVA and Highway Automotive brands collectively enjoyed a highly successful show. In addition to showing its thermal management solutions for new energy vehicles, Nissens also exhibited its recently launched product innovations like the throttle body range, asl well as ERG coolers for truck applications.
