The technology gives customers all they need to power the refinish process in a single platform, including colour retrieval, product ordering, inventory management, training resources, and support, Axalta said. The system uses proprietary algorithms to find, sort, and return accurate colour formulas and power the Axalta Irus fully automated, digital colour management process. Profitability Managers can review real-time consumption data and inventory management with Axalta Nimbus Stock and replenish inventory directly through Axalta Nimbus Store. By working together in a single platform, comprehensive business insights provide actionable data that help owners and managers make informed decisions to increase profitability and performance. Troy Weaver, president of global refinish at Axalta, said. “This industryleading technology was designed based on the end-to-end process of how our customers work and reaffirms our commitment to not only be a leading coatings manufacturer but also a business partner dedicated to helping our customers improve productivity and profitability through technology and innovation.” www.refinish.axalta.eu/nimbus One out of three British car owners are avoiding crucial paint repairs, risking long-term damage to their vehicles, according to a survey by car touch up paint supplier Car Paint Colours. The survey* revealed that British adults who own a blue vehicle were most likely to have damaged paintwork with black cars coming in second. Blue cars accounted for 48% of the less-than-pristine vehicles on the UK’s roads, with black cars close behind at 43%. While white cars seem to be the safer mainstream colour to drive with only 35% reporting a blemish that needs small car paint repair on their automobile. Of those with unrepaired blue cars, 51% said they had not had their car’s body paint done because it was ‘too expensive’, while 24% said it was ‘inconvenient’. Some 49% of blue car owners would take their car to a body shop for repairs if they were going to have the work done, while 30% said they would do it themselves. ‘Inconvenience’ In the survey, 53% of British car owners cited the cost of repairs as ‘too high’, leaving their vehicles vulnerable to further damage, while 25% said it was an inconvenience to repair small paintwork imperfections. And while nearly 50% of British car owners would still prefer to have their local body shop or mechanic carry out their small car paint repairs, 24% would be willing to do it themselves at home. The percentage was higher depending on the region too, with 29% of those surveyed from the southeast willing to carry out the repairs themselves. Owner of Car Paint Colours, Paul O’Reilly, said the firm wanted to understand the reasons fewer people were opting to repair their car’s paintwork when they have scuffs or scrapes. “What I found interesting was that the data also showed there was an appetite among drivers to do the repairs themselves.” ‘Lucrative’ “It’s one of the reasons we have introduced Car Paint Colours to the market by offering bodyshops and dealerships a product which they can upsell to their customers. We know repairing small paint work is time consuming for mechanics and car technicians, which is often not reflected in the value of the job. “By offering an at-home repair kit, they can accommodate their customers well and reduce the amount of small tasks, opening up time for more lucrative jobs.” The brand launched a platform using DVLA-assisted technology that allows suppliers to enter their customer’s reg number and order colour-matched aerosols or smart chip pens on their behalf. *The YouGov survey was conducted online early last July among a sample of 2,077 adults. https://carpaintcolours.co.uk Paint dodgers get the blues over costs $[DOWD UHᎮQLVKLQJ WHFK SODWIRUP ODXQFK
