20 AFTERMARKET FEBRUARY2023 TOP TECHNICIAN AND TOP GARAGE 2023 www.toptechnicianonline.co.uk IT’S A GO! Both Top Technician and Top Garage 2023 are now open: Have you entered yet? S ince the last issue of Aftermarket hit your doormat at the beginning of December both Top Technician and Top Garage 2023 have opened for entries. Since then, hundreds of mechanics across the country and scores of businesses up and down the land have signed up. Are you one of them? If you are, for Top Technician, you have until Friday 31 March 2023 to complete round one. If you do not undertake the initial online round, you won’t be able to progress through the competition. Once you are in, and you pass round one, you will move forward in round two between Tuesday 11 April and Monday 8 May. Those who succeed here then go through to round three, which will be held from Friday 26 May to Monday 19 June. The 10 highest-scoring participants in round three will then make the leap to the live arena, and be invited to the semi-final, which will be held on Saturday 2 September at Delphi Technologies, Warwick. As long-term followers of Top Technician will know, this will involve five 20-minute real-world practical tasks, set by the judges on real vehicles. It’s a big change from the online rounds. From this group of 10, the highest-scoring five will move forward to the final on Saturday 14 October, also being held at Delphi in Warwick, Here, a winner and runner- up will be identified. They will be named at the Top Technician and Top Garage Awards Evening 2023, taking place at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Coventry. If you have not entered Top Technician 2023 yet, go to www.aftermarketonline.net and Click on the ‘Top Technician/Top Garage tab on the homepage. That will take you through to a landing page where you just need to follow the instructions. The initial test will just be a few minutes of your time. Who knows where it will lead. Remember, the winners take home major prizes including cash, tools and equipment. For Top Technician and Top Garage 2022, the total prize fund was in excess of £30,000. Undertake Then, of course, there is Top Garage. Here, you have until Sunday 4 April to take the round one quiz. Here you will answer questions on business practices, customer care, marketing and much more. Those who pass this will then have the opportunity to undertake the semi-final, which also takes place online. This will be held between Friday 26 May and Monday 10 July. Those who make it through here will then find themselves facing the judges at the final on Saturday 14 October, also at Delphi Technologies in Warwick. The winners for the various Top Garage groups will be identified at the Top Technician and Top Garage Awards Evening 2023, being held as was mentioned earlier at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Coventry.
