I am Julia, and with my husband Clive we run Nene Jag Specialists. We have been in business now for 27 years and married for 33 years. We have three beautiful grown-up girls. When I left school, I studied for a childcare qualification, which then led me into social services with families and under-fives for about eight years. After that I worked in Peterborough’s Homeless Shelter and whileboth jobs were very demanding work, they were extremely rewarding and I loved them. From the very beginning I had been involved with establishing Nene Jag Specialists, ever since Clive came to me with the idea in 1993. Roll on two years later and I joined him, taking the plunge, starting a new career path, and working alongside him full time at the business. A moment of madness or pure genius? Only time would tell! At the time of this decision I was sure of three things; this was a colossal step to take, I knew virtually nothing about business, and even less about cars. The past 27 years have certainly been a steep learning curve, but what I can say is that I now know a little more about cars and a little more about business. One of the things I love about my job is that each day is different. We may only do the one make of car, but that isn’t to say that each day doesn’t bring with it new challenges, unique characters and different models. With Clive busy at work with our customer’s beloved Jaguars, my job in the office is to keep him supplied with the correct parts, information, and a steady flow of work. It’s my job in reception to answer the calls, deal with the customers, produce the job cards for the workshop, provide estimates and order any parts required.
